Well, there are 4 British and 5 American universities in the top 10 of the latest QS World University Rankings (2015-2016). Relative to its size, Britain clearly outperforms its rivals. Moreover, I don't find in the top 100 either City University of New York (CUNY), where Okoampa studied for his BA, or Temple University, from where he earned his MA/PhD. In fact, CUNY is at 461, Temple 601.

If university ranking is Okoampa's yardstick here, then he is more suited to writing for retards than he thinks! Indeed, he does write for a good number of them at Nassau Community College!

From my own experience with undergraduate students in both the US and the UK, I'm tempted to stick out my neck and suggest that the average undergraduate student in the UK has better writing skills than the American counterpart. But that would be a hasty generalisation! There's one thing I'm most sure about: Okoampa needs a refresher in college composition!
