Damn !!! The truth will rather hurt some people.
All the so called men of God are doing is fleecing their congregation, using half of it to finance their luxurious lives and that of their children and then recycle the rest under the banner of a philantrophist to improve their own importance in the society.
What they pratice there is just group dynamics and the tricks of the trade to force people to stay in the church.
Peolple become so dependent on the group and cannot even think of leaving even if things are going on that they do not approve of.
People's wives and daughters are defiled and they all keep mute because they are scared of coming against the group and losing all their friends. They therefore keep their mouths shut, suffer it and keep their friends.
They are petrified of being branded as devils trying to break up the church and the consequences that flow from that as a result.
With time it becomes a cult because everybody in the group is scared of the leaders. Hence some leaders become so powerful they ask their congregation to eat grass, drink their pee,use their credit cards for offertory, abandon their parents who have brought them up, sleep with certain members of the church because pasto says so etc.
In the knutshell, all their thinking brains goes right down tinto their ass. The Pastor becomes a mini god and the congregation become vegetables.

I am no fan of any religious establishment but I can understand why Ken Agyepong stated that Otabil is the only true man of God in Ghana: He is the only one that makes sense. All the rest don't.
If you closely analyze Otabil's sermons, you will see that they are philosophical and practical enough to lead to some intellectual and economic progress. My problem is that he is too stuck to the Bible which for the most part, is a book of barbaric behavior.......
Therefore over ll, I would leave a man alone who becomes wealthy by speaking so much wisdom. After all, there are so many others who utter stupidity in the pulpit and are still very wealthy.
And BTW, can't you be less verbose in your writing Bro? For most of the time, your sentences or words mean nothing at all.
Then again, when you talk of cult of personality and superhumanity, remember that you have created one in Nkrumah who, in my opinion, did not make as much sense as Otabil.

Dr. you must be careful about what you say - what do yo mean by some one making sense??? oh i see!! you say that otabils sermons 'are philosophical and practical enough...............economic progress", so without any real qualification you deem Otabils sermons "wisdom" so you are happy that he has made some wealth from talking wisdom?
So now Dr. tell me how much of this sensible and progressive Evangelists wisdom is catalogued in university libraries around the world or in Africa? How many of otabils books make it as text books for study in any field of study at any university or college or second cycle school universally? how many of his books are considered universal must reads in the field of '"wisdom,'Sense", "intellectual" and "economic progress". even if nkrumah has been moulded into a cult figure he is worthy to be revered not only because his speeches and books are defining literature in African History programmes at so many universities worldwide but his actions that drove our independence and inspired so many african countries to break their bondage to european christian enslaving nations, is really the stuff of legends and is recognised in South africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Guinee Bissau, Chad, Mali, Burkina Faso and every other country in africa.
Decisively, unlike Otabils cowardly heroes Jesus and Paul (of biblical fame)who commanded slaves and the downtrodden to accept their fate and submit to the brutality of their slave masters and oppressors (Otabil is a notorious christian slavery apologists),Nkrumah speaking from the human in him inspired Africans alloover the continent to break those chains of bondage and submission to brutality and prove we were as capable as any human out there. That for me is real wisdom, something neither Jesus or Paul had the courage to inspire, so in truth not opinion Nkrumah deserves the hero worship and adulation and is in fact is the most intelligent of the two and a great builder of nations.

Nkrumah himself was a slave master who imposed incarceration without trial, one party state, life presidency and personality cultic worship on the country. All his verbiage about freedom and independence were empty rhetoric and hollow peroration. That is why he was overthrown in ignominy and died in exile....Fortunately, Ghana is forever rid of his treasonable falsehood and fake adventurism.
The test for wisdom is not whether it is published or even peer reviewed. It is known when it is heard. So much foolishness is published, imbibed and regurgitated on the university campus. Interestingly, you cannot say anything intelligent about Nkrumah whose template for African freedom lay in his own sense of governance which was arrant autocracy.
I say again that I don't have any problem with a person like Otabil who speaks wisdom and profits thereby.
But I do have serious problems with mountebanks and hypocrites like Nkrumah who poisoned the leadership of Ghana and of Africa, while singing his meaningless songs of freedom.
And I do have problems with Prof. Kwarteng and all you people who condemn personality cults and superhuman images while genuflecting before the obnoxious idol of Kwame Nkrumah.

Dr. how did you get your doctorate? you simply stood up and said something that made "sense!!! your title is an indication of a scientific education that priorities evidence and testing over simple intuitions. one of the real tests for wisdom is indeed peer review - for you to say that peer review is not a test for wisdom hides your true religious motives, despite you saying that you are no fan of the religious establishment you think like a fan of the religious who forsake critical thought, reason and criticism for blind "faith" in things of whose outcome they know nothing. or is it simply blind ignorance to support your point. or is it like the "Dr." title you use - a nickname but not a title earned. People who make comments like this - "The test for wisdom is not whether it is published or even peer reviewed. It is known when it is heard" are simply not living in this world. show me a recognized institution of learning that rejects peer reviews????????? Dr i fear that you are a fake doctor. and by the way the church supercedes the university when it comes to foolishness being published, imbibed, and regurgitated, yet you accept their 'wisdom"!!!!
your criticism of nkrumah is founded in your lack of a complete understanding of the time and circumstances, you are a liar if you claim nkrumah imposed incarceration etc, he did not impose anything, he reacted to certain threats and situations at that time the best way possible, he may not have been right but he did what was necessary in a post independence africa threatened by subversionist african collaborators and their european/american masters. Nkrumah was no slave master or dictator, he was a visionary leader and catalyst for African independence, while i recognise no human is perfect and therefore will not say he was perfect but rather he was the most significant leader africa has had in the last 100 years. he did make mistakes but on balance his positive impact far supersedes his negative, unlike Hitler who had so few positives (he was a fervent supporter of science and technology and his country made significant progress in that field albeit while murdering millions). it was no mere coincidence that his ousting and exile which you so gloriously adore only spelt doom for Ghana, at least four military coups, political instability, even more human rights violations, economic paralysis (yes foreign companies and nations still control our major natural resources, control our currency and dump inferior and dangerous goods on our soil, ghana cannot refine her own gold and oil, no industrial base, brain and manpower drains etc). it is no secret that Nkrumah through "his verbiage about freedom and independence" saw this outcome and, spoke and wrote about it.(read any of his books Dr.)if ghana is fortunate to be rid of Nkrumah we are indeed fortunate to be living in a country that is paradise on earth - no wonder so many youth pack their bags and leave this country swearing never to return. i guess thats nkrumahs fault too.
going back to the original score - nkrumah is superior to otabil not because he makes sense but that his ideas, ideals and actions served ghana better than Otabils, if otabil is not there tommorrow another "man of god" will take his place but in over fifty years Ghana has not had a leader with the impact continentally and universally as Nkrumah and that my good doctor is a fact.
