I assume that other than one selected and approved by your party any other person by your criteria will be unqualified. failure to apply standards of rational evaluation in your assessment betrays your intellectual shallowness.

The only thing this unqualified pseudo-Ghanaian achieved was changing of NCCE logo. Again it was rumored that her husband designed that useless logo at the cost of millions of cedis.

Our problem is underestimating our standard of due process.I am sure the questions you have asked and the type of answers you require can only be provided by reference to public right of access to information held on her by the NCCE authorities and which I believe was made available to the council of state before determining her eligibility.

I believe the council of state recommended her for the appointment because they were satisfied of her competency.I also believe that the opposition parties must have checked her records even if off the records to ascertain her competence.

No wonder that instead of her academic credentials and competence,they are looking at bias and the nationality questions.This to me is a figment of imagination.

The questions you pose were mainly abstract and subjective.How do you evaluate administrative competence if you don't use theoretical measurements.If you want policy initiatives then the right place will be the right of information act where her full record will be made available including policy initiatives.I will look forward to your article after finding the information on her.

I suppose you, Mr. Prempeh, would say people serving as members of parliament are qualified because they were chosen by the people who have as much brain power as you. Does the record out of parliament support the notion that they are qualified? Is there some specialized courses in colleges and universities on voting, registration or should I say voter machine management? Classroom acquired credentials has been the down fall of Ghana but we are all yet to accept this reality.

If I am not mistaken there has never been a year in the history of Ghana since 1957 where our parliamentary body has not been made up of mostly classroom educated folks with people holding post graduate level degrees occupying most ministerial appointments. What is the record on the job each government has given Ghana? So you can take that superficial qualification crap and shove it. Each of us prefer thieves from our own respective tribes as qualified but no other thief and live in that lie each day.

At least certain qualities have to be met before one can be appointed for such a position. For the sake of transparency, the president could have allowed for a few persons to be interviewed from which a selection could be made. If he had allowed such a process who could have complained against the EC chairperson as being biased in favor of the president and his party? Having power does not mean that you can do anything anyhow, just because you have the power. Involving the people in the decision making process allows no one to hold grudges or doubts against whatever you do. The 'yen tie' policy adopted by this government is the cause of what we going through. Even though the EC is independent, Charlotte Osei should open up to the people instead of seen as leaning towards one party. With an iron fist she will rather put herself in a miserable position which she will have no one to blame except herself. The EC should be seen as neutral to earn credit from the people. It does not matter who wins the elections, if and only if, it is held in an atmosphere of free and fair.
