Dr. Bawumia's "Flagstaff House religious skewed" comment is irresponsible, divisive, wrong, stupid, poisonous and potentially dangerous. Mixing religion with politics in running an election campaign is crass stupidity. And using his Islamic faith/religion to drum up support is like spreading Islamic fundamentalism. It's inexcusable. It must be condemned!

Obviously, you've chosen not to condemn Dr. Bawumia. Frankly, is it shameful when you cynically try to justify Dr. Bawumia's divisive and poisonous Islamic campaign? Whether the NDC party has so far not selected a Muslim as either Presidential or Vice-candidate isn't necessarily the issue here. And whether the NDC party largely 'exploits' Muslim communities just for votes is an entirely marginal issue. Christians and Muslims live in relative peace and harmony in Ghana. Ghanaians don't vote solely on religious criteria. We cannot allow Ghana's body politic to be poisoned with religious identity politics. This should bother Ghanaians a great deal.

At no time did religious religious perform the duties of traditional rulers who were simply family representatives. The man wants to set a dangerous precedent, he must be "on someone's string". It is true religious leaders took over governance in the Bible, but that was because the kings failed them. People perish for lack of knowledge.

Akoampa with all your knowledge and skill in writing this is the best you can produce here on this platform. Can I tell you that Aliu Mahama was a vice just to get votes from the north. It got to a time he was heavily sidelined by thief Kuffour. When Aliu was a vice Muslims in Ghana never enjoyed any successful Hajj program. People even died at hajj village under the leadership of Aliu. Can that be said under the leadership of NDC? The answer is big NO. If Aliu is invited by Muslims for programs he doesn't honor them not even to send a special guest to represent him. Some of us regretted having a Muslim as a vice because Alius vice presidency did not translate into Muslims been supported in social and economic transformation. Kwame spare us the hypocrisy. When NDC under Rawlings was voting for public holidays for Muslim festivals npp was strongly against it. Under NDC we have hajj programs well organised. Let Bokor help you write meaningful and well balanced articles
