I agreed with you that there is no credible voter's register anywhere in the world. Polling agents must be trusted before putting them at the polling stations by their parties. Where I have a concern is the Declaration of results. Without a declaration, I do not think there will be a petition. The 21 day electoral settlement in Kenya can never be accepted by Ghanaians even though I do not know the scope of issues that were settled within the 21 days. Ghanaians by their nature will see the verdict coming out even within 30 days as shoddy work without proper investigation. Ghanaians enjoy the long term settlement in our courts which psychologically calm down nerves before verdicts are given. There can be appeals, do we create a vacuum for governance? No! there should also not be any room for a temporal government formation. Vacuum creation is dangerous and a coalition governance without an election is worse. Assuming there were know declaration, the dispute is sent to Court after about a month, the Petitioner came out to be the winner after all; won't that have been waste of state's resources? There must always be a Declaration

As has been pointed out by others, who thinks the current implacable group running the NPP, would have allowed the matter to be put rest, if a political vacuum existed?
Just look at what these same elements have done, using various front organizations like LMVC, Occupy Ghana etc, since the SC verdict came down.
I know for certain that, Charlie himself knows that, save a declaration in their favour, this group, and others like it, would never the government machinery, to function.

The petition and the rulings of the judges showed a cowardly approach to law. There was a clear attempt at appeasement thereby making a mockery of the verdict.
Akufo and his ventriloquist dummy clearly had no case and the sc should have dismissed that petition quickly and promptly but the fear of what reaction will come from a faction of the political divide affected their reasoning.Although they came to the right decision it was a belabored one.
But it was our version of legal sophistry.

Even the absurd core declaration that sought to make Akuffo Addo the winner, through the backdoor, was sufficient ground, to have summarily thrown out the petition! After all, at what point in this frivolous petition, did these 'sore losers' demonstrate that whatever 'breaches' or 'infractions' that may have occurred, entitled Nana Addo to be declared the winner of the presidential contest?

Ghana will continue on this path(disputed election results)for a long time if the right thing is not done.Credible elections is all that people are asking for and not a perfect one.The final solution is a national identification scheme whereby all will be issued a card right from birth. This will also serve as a voting card.Let no one make any mistake, this is a big problem that can incite violence if not properly addressed.
