I don't support divisive comment of any form, but i believe Kee made a very good observation about Bawumia's comment which this ethnocentric/afrocentric idiot, with all his verbosity, could not grasp. Quoting from portion of what Bawumia said, thus"We are in this country living peacefully and nicely; Christians and Muslims. So we believe in the NPP that Christians and Muslims should work together and that is why whenever we pick a flagbearer as a Christian, we pick a Muslim as a Vice. And when we come and pick a Muslim as a flagbearer, we will pick a Christian as a vice.

“So if, Insha Allah, Nana Akufo-Addo becomes president, he will swear with the Bible and enter the Flagstaff House and I will swear by the Quran and enter the Flagstaff House”, every sensible and responsible person could have realized that he was only making appeal for a fair representation of Muslims at the seat of the presidency. Notable personalities, chiefs and kings had made more damning appeals, which had more ethnocentric connotations, in the past, that their people are not fairly represented in government, and with the exception of dummies like this twitch and his equally stupid admirers, discerning Ghanaians warmly greeted those occasions with warm hearts, and have since moved on from there. So, what make this humble promise to muslims, which is not nothing new since Ghanaians know that the NPP is the only party which has always lived up to expectation by keeping or observing the need for the two mainstream religious bodies in Ghana to tolerate each other.
Is this what this hopeless professor refers to as "a load of crazy, stupid talk!"?
Well, I want Kwarteng to understand that the NPP has respect for atheist like himself, Prof Lungu and Trokosi C.Y. Andy; what we don't condone is ethnocentrism, bitterness and hate for any individual. We also abhor outright stupidity just as what you have amply displayed in this foolish essay.

President Mahama and almost all his propagandist Ministers & activists have used this to whip sentiments against NPP since 1990s. They have done this since Nkrumah. NDC boots are now confronted with NPP boots. Now Bawumia is also calling on NDC to leave their so called "comfort zone" & go outside Christians to Muslims to field their Presidential tickets. NDC will have to do proper equalisation. This Bawumia/ Attivor equalisation is terribly bunkum. NDC harps on NPP marginalizing non- Akans. NPP now talks about NDC marginalizing Muslims. Which is evoking tribalism? Which is evoking religiosity?
NDC thinks about non- Akan exclusion. Bawumia is talking about Muslim exclusion.

We live in a free country in which everyone should be able to state his opinion freely. Even if he's wrong, he should not be crucified for political reasons.That is how disgruntled politicians are made.

But was he wrong? In a multi-religious environment, it is advisable to take cognisance of how top jobs are distributed. That is why in countries like Nigeria, the usual practice os for there to be what is called a balanced ticket during elections. Right now, president Muhammadu Buhari has a Christina Vice-President. And before him, President Goodluck Jonathan had a Muslim Vice-President.

It does not mean miuch in practice, but the "body language" of such a practice is important to people who may not know much about politics. It makes them feel they too belong. Of course, in due course, we should disregard all these things and look at people as people. But to pretend that in recognizing the necessity to be balanced Bawumia has uttered some sort of blasphemy is just silly.
