Our meagre resources is being shared with neigboring Togo, Burkina and la Cote D'ivoire all because these buffoons in government want to retain power. They have forgetting that given these aliens voter ID cards entitled them to have free maternal care, free NHIS enrollment, entitled them to aquire the Ghanaian passport to engage in criminal activities elsewhere around the globe.....and so forth. All these are happening because Asiedu Nketia and his Kwasea bi nti bed fellows want to stay in power and continue their Loot and Share splee. And the irony is that some professors like Bokor, Lungu and Kwarteng, who should otherwise know better, have allowed their brain to be rented to these criminals in government for pittance. Folks, the NDC is a real problem; they are the cause of our woes, and many deaths recorded every day; they are unpatriotic; they don't care about the future of Ghana, and just as the bible says about Satan the Destroyer in JOHN 10:10, they only came to power to steal, kill and destroy. There was the Woyome, SAD, GYEEDA, SUBAH, there came to pass the rot at the National Service Secretariate, Alibaba Mahama and the Embraer plane deal, the Turkey Gold scandal, the Ativor Smelly bus rebranding saga, and now they are trying to divert 250 millions dollar part of the 1-billion Eurobond into their pockets. Ei Oman Ghana paa nie! Folks let us join hands to kick Mahama out before Kuwait and Dubai come to claim ownership of Ghana. This is my prayer, so help me God.

I believe it is time all births and deaths are recorded and and kept by computers as done in these western countries. Again Ghana needs a NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARD for Ghanaian citizens so that only eligible voters can vote during election time.

The reasons you gave for the impossibility of a clean voters register is spot on and it is only the fool who will dispute that.Awuku the npp youth organizer may call for your arrest for suggesting there are minors on our voters register and that by such openness you have become an accomplice to crime and that the police must arrest you. Even the controversial ken Agyapong will disagree with that.
The fact remains that there is no clean register any where because of several reason not least death.In Ghana since our record keeping is abysmal and since we have no credible birth and death records it is even more of a problem.Until we do something about our records from cradle to grave these difficulties will remain and we must be realistic about it.
Threatening people for calling attention to these facts is unrealistic and just like burying our heads in the sand for political expedience.Maybe it is a process of civilization.

No register has ever been perfect anywhere in the world. All the variables responsible for the dirt in the register cancel out at the end, because they are traceable to the political parties themselves. There is no gainsaying ... read full comment
No register has ever been perfect anywhere in the world. All the variables responsible for the dirt in the register cancel out at the end, because they are traceable to the political parties themselves. There is no gainsaying that Party X cheated more than Party y because it registered more minors or aliens. The truth is that all are guilty. In the end, the register dirty as it is will still bring out a result reflective of the desire of the majority of the voters as happened especially in 2000 and 2012, when the Govt changed hands.
