Yes he's been long gone and if you will stop heaping praises and reminding us of him which in most cases are misleading and falsehood, nobody will talk about your idol for most of us want to move on.
Like it or not,Ghana would have been by far a better place than what it is now if we had a leader with good foresight and the nation's wellbeing at heart. He wasted our resources unnecessarily and that's a fact.
When damage is done,it takes time to put it right and that's what's happening in Ghana after his reckless spending all in the wishful thinking of uniting Africa to become the president. He loved power and that's all.

It is precisely the garbage in garbage out you gave as your take on Nkrumah Prof Lungu continues to write even if zealously at times.
Do developed Western nations such as the USA, CANADA, UK, GERMANY, FRANCE, Spain, Italy and others, developed communist nations like Russia, China and others and emerging markets such as India, Pakistan, Brazil and others not continue to give aid to countries around the globe and continue to develop? Are many of those nations not having economic crises and yet continue to meet requisite development obligations and necessities? So why and how can it be that Nkrumah abused and misused Ghana's funds that has kept Ghana in the backwaters for some 40+years? Since Nkrumah left the scene has the cumulative totals of the monies that have been stolen, abused and misused by your kind of leaders not exceeded 10 times what Nkrumah misused? Let me give you a hint on why I personally consider people like you and others who blame Nkrumah for our current woes plain dumb, stupid and mentally underdeveloped. Our fathers and mothers mostly missed out on education but that has not stopped us from attaining heights in education they could only dream about. The next generation of children will hopefully do better than we did. So tell me why some 40+ years after Nkrumah left the scene we continue to receive western aid, have borrowed and mortgaged the future of the next generation to a tune which is more than 20times what Nkrumah was presumed to have blown and we continue to use every open space as toilet facilities even while we buy expensive foreign cars to drive on pothole filled paved and unpaved roads? Yes Prof Lungu and others have to write to expose the garbage and baseless crap hateful Ghanaians motivated by tribe put out against Nkrumah. Those institutions and structures Nkrumah put up and out continues to serve a Ghana that has been run into the ground by ignorant little tribal pimps and hoes who shamelessly blame Nkrumah for our incompetence and lack or ideals, ideas and foresight. Continue to live under delusional tribal ideals and some 50 year down the road you will be blaming Nkrumah even when a newly minted NPP and NDC troop people out a slaves for cash to spend. Are we not there already as our land, natural and mineral resources are being controlled by foreigners even as institutions are managed by foreigners while you continue to blame Nkrumah for the brain cells that never came to us?

We are not CPPs, or NDC, or NPP, or whatever, and other people, for whatever reasons, have their interest items.
But We Stand for Kwame Nkrumah.
You know, about 2 months ago, we read a news item credited to the CPP Youth leader. The last time we were in Ghana we visited many elementary schools to help inspire students in the local areas. We did not get a chance to review their standard, government-approved books.
According to the CPP Youth leader, Kwame Nkrumah is the only Ghanaian leader who has been ostracized in books approved by government for schools in Ghana.
That is not development, or democracy, on that score.
Ideas should matter.
That is authoritarianism!

You can make a deity out of that Brutal Dictator, create a shrine and worship same if you so wish. The simple truth is that the Youth of today will not waste a dime to consult the shrine of your demigod, especially with you as the fetish priest. And the reason ? People know what time it is; The so called glorious days of Nkrumah where our parents used to walk barefooted , and used their HEAD only to carry table and chairs, cutlasses and brooms to school are long long gone for good.
Was it not so stupid for Nkrumah, the then alpha and omega and the repository of all wisdom under the sun, to tell his Varanda Boys to " do as i says, your duty is not know the reason"? And the funny thing is that, many of such foolish commands were met with great applause and cheering,..YIEEEEEEEH!.... simply because these illiterate Varanda boys had no idea about the Lungu and Kwarteng-like English that he used to bombard them with.
Trust me, our kids are far advanced in technology; they use computers, tablets and smartphones to learn. They don't hesitate to ask why , unlike what Nkrumah subjected the Young Pioneer and the Varanda Boys to. And above all , they would not allow any crazy baldhead to take them aback to the Guggisberg Economy of the 1960s.
Ghana is under developed, not because Nkrumah was overthrown; it is because the kind thivesf and incompetent politicians we have in the ndc , and the people with colonial mindsets like Lungu.

You are no different from Edgar Hoover and Joe McCarthy who sent a lot people into prison because they had different opinions in the "bogus" democratic republic of USA.
If you have common prudence, please keep your senseless and nation wrecking rants within the NLM/UP/NPP club of traitors.
There is ample evidence to prove that there were people who walked barefooted in the USA and UK in the fifties/sixties when Nkrumah was ruling Ghana.
Does it require a surgical operation for you to understand the fact that JB Danquah, [your idol] was a traitor and a complete failure? Nkrumah, the Plough Boy triumphed over your hopeless class-obsessed and bogus democrat Danquah, hence your irrational and nation wrecking rants!
One can see the dignity in Kwarteng and Lungu, by not responding to your barrage of insults. The "Verandah Boys" and the "Plough Boy Nkrumah" did more for Ghana than your airy-fairy,pompous,selfish,and selective-democrats called JB"Traitor Danquah and Busia.

You know, the title of the paper we sent to the editor said, "Only mad 60-year olds fault Kwame Nkrumah for Ghana's development quagmire".
It was the editor who shortened the title by removing, "...for Ghana's development quagmire". (That, we did not have any control over).
Our sense is, it is not rational for any person, of any age, to hold a grudge on their shoulder, that Kwame Nkrumah is responsible for Ghana's development miasma, in 2016.
As we ask, what is the role of others?
Not too long ago some in the NPP, Akuffo-Addo, in fact, was asking others to apologize on behalf of J. B. Danquah and the UP.
Really?
A lot of politicians like Akuffo-Addo, and scholars they support, not to say Mr. Yeboah fits anywhere, have been using that clutch for far too long. They are the "mad" ones in the sense they are not being rational as far as the Ghana body polity is concerned, merely being opportunists. They have no proof, except Cold War-era newspaper headlines, fabrications by scholars who do not care a hoot about Ghana/Africa, and coup plotter narratives, some of whom they have a special relationship with).
If "young" ones believe that, they are misinformed, and we see a responsibility to do something about that, however little.
Bottom-Line: All that conjecture has got to stop.
Still, not so fast, Major.
The next paper has not not been sent out yet. This is one in our "Definitives". We tackle the issue offensively, four-square, we post it on GhanaHero.Com, we refer future readers to that piece - so we stop that cycle of constantly re-visiting, wasting our time and resources.
REPEAT: However many Parts it turns out, the paper will be reformatted with graphics and the Final posted on GhanaHero.com, under "Visions/Prof Lungu Says...".
That, we can promise.
Again, thanks.

Personally, I believe that Dr. Nkrumah, Dr Busia & Dr J.B. Danquah all made valuable contributions to Ghana. I find it ironic that Dr Nkrumah is consistently vilified by ill-informed critics on Ghanaweb but not by the hierarchy of the NPP. These critics consistently accuse Dr Nkrumah of being a Dictator because of the introduction of the 'Prevention of Detention Act' 1958. This legislation was introduced by the Minister of the Interior (Mr Krobo Edusei). There is no denying the fact that this legislation was used to detain political opponents but not without good reason. Did Dr Nkrumah not survive several assassination attempts? Was the pregnant Sister of Mr Krobo Edusei not murdered by a supporter of the NLM? Personally, I believe that the CPP did not intentionally allow Dr J.B. Danquah to die in prison and that Dr Nkrumah cried bitterly when he heard the news. After all at one time they were friends and colleagues. When the 1972 Coup, was carried out which overthrew Busia's Government, how did Dr Busia manage to escape into exile? Was it not through the assistance of Mr Krobo Edusei, the same Minister of the Interior, who introduced the 'Prevention of the Detention Act 1958'? Mr Krobo Edusei, who was a personal friend of General Acheampong, had prior warning about the 1972 Coup, and personally ensured that Dr Busia, was given a safe passage into exile. If anyone doubts these claims they should contact President Kuffour, Nana Addo or Alan Cash. All of these NPP 'Big Wigs' personally knew Mr Krobo Edusei and are aware of this fact. Nephews of Mr Krobo Edusei, went to Prempeh College, with President Kuffour & remain friends with him. Mr Yaw Krobo Edusei (Junior), remains a close childhood friend of Nana Addo Danquah and Mr Alan Cash grew up next door to the House of Mr Krobo Edusei, in the Kuamsi Suburb of Mbrom. The elderly Mother of Alan Cash still remains living in the same house. If these members of the NPP Hierarchy are not prepared to publicly criticize the CPP Government then why listen to criticisms from less informed persons who want to try & re-write History? Another irony the recent article published on Ghanaweb written by 'Tarzan' (Dr Wreko Brobbey), which argued that President Kuffour introduced 'Social Intervention' Programmes similar to the CPP Government led by Dr Nkrumah.

I made this contribution on SIL a while ago about the lies often told about the British leaving a huge amount of which Nkrumah allegedly misused.
--------------------------------
The writer knows his onions but he digressed a lot into painting the background picture that determined Nkrumah's policy during the period of the dyarchy and hardly gave the details of how his fiscal policy led to the accumulated funds.
For instance, he could have mentioned that when the West African Produce Board was disbanded to give way to the GCMB, Ghana got the lion's share of its reserves, just £19m. Nigeria got a meagre £9m, I suppose. I am trying to recollect things I read in the mid-70s from one of my 6th Form Human Geography books, Ord and Livingstone or Barton. It was that money the British wanted the Gold Coast to donate towards their recovery and it was vehemently opposed by even Danquah.
He could have written that much of the reserves came from the commodities boom triggered by the Korean War; and the price of cocoa, for instance, shot through the roofs to an all time high. And it was Sir Arthur Lewis who advised that Nkrumah should not pass on a large amount of the windfall to the cocoa farmers, as it'd cause inflation since the post-war shortages was still in place. Rather, he should save the surplus with the British, as "anchor of safety for a rainy day," thereby making that phrase a catch-phrase in the early '50s, just as "gargantuan" today. He also advised Nkrumah to rather borrow to fund his early projects. The catch was that the interest on the reserves was much lower than the interest on the loans the CPP was advised to take, thus making some commentators to fault this advice by Arthur Lewis.
And how accepting this advice contributed in no small measure to the revolt of the cocoa farmers who mostly voted for the CPP some few months earlier, leading to the formation of the NLM, many of whose leaders were actually CPP activists and even leaders, e.g, R.R. Amponsah. Of course, reversal of the CPP's populist opposition to the cutting of diseased cocoa trees and the poll tax during the General Elections, while refusing to increase the price per load added impetus.
Anyway, the CPP prevailed, maintained its grounds, and saved those funds. It is to be observed that by 1955-6, the world price for cocoa had dropped drastically, and some of the reserves was used to shore up the prices paid to farmers.
Indeed, the British didn't leave any money for the CPP. The money belonged to Ghanaians and the CPP prudently saved it at great political cost still with us today.

To whom do we chalk all of that?
You should know and understand - we've never met, and we know diddly-squat about you, except through these pages.
Above, in a comment to Major, we note that this essay is more a metaphor than anything. But, in Carly Simon-speak, you are "thinking" this essay is all about you.
If you are not "60" and you do not have "grandchildren", how can this essay be so about you?

Meanwhile, congratulations, though, on your success, possibly achieved through some of the efforts we note in this essay, through Kwame Nkrumah.

Cletus D Kuunifaa,
Greetings, and thanks, really, for your support of the FTOS-Gh Campaign!
It is amazing why some people miss the metaphor, even. And there are those who are offended by petty, innocent words that mean nothing, seriously.
Up there, someone is complaining about "civil" language. But, they are the first to be "uncivil".
Why is a Ghanaian politician who elects on their own free will to be a politician, why are they deserving of "civil" language when they do not even respond to requests for information?
There is a fella who said he was going to help us promote the FTOS-Gh Campaign at Graphic.com, you know, that government publication. We sent that fella information immediately. Next, he wrote back asking us to put "Honourable" in front of some official's name, as it is "protocol". So, we indulged, made the change, and re-sent the paper. You know, it's been more than 5 months since. We've not heard from that Graphics fella, nor has that paper been published.
The last time, Graphic was asking us to pay them before they will publish papers about the FTOS-Gh campaign. Meanwhile, UK-funded DFID is spending millions of dollars indoctrinating Ghanaian press against the PSA, and fair revenues for Ghana.
All this to note, Ghana is practically 60 years old.
And for some people to claim Nkrumah is responsible for the development impasse, is pathetic.
Ghana has lost more than $6 billion dollars in oil revenues the last 5 years alone, while politicians and their Oil buddies are swimming in cash, and Kwame Nkrumah is responsible for all of that.
Hogwash!
We imagine it is those people, and those who support them, who are so blind they can't see the metaphor, the humor, from the trees.
Peace!

Lungu a copycat just like Kwarteng is posting are posting all kinds of crap to Ghanawed only to seek attention.
Their write ups are childish, bogus, misleading, senseless and partisan.
Are you the same Abeeku Mensah who was supporting NCA to restrict or block internet calls to Ghana? Well, it is the same mind set that causes people to underdevelop and defecate in the open.
Very powerful points you raise, Abeeku Mensah.
Thanks.

The plain truth is that Prof Lungu,Kwarteng,Abeeku Mensah among others are too advanced for the pseudo-intellectuals on Ghanaweb such as the fake Dr Otto.
This writer must learn to be civil. I did not read a single paragraph because of the title. Nkrumah has done great things which are indisputable, yes, but he also caused the unjustifiable detention of many citizens, so natura ...

What about the rest of us who are also in that age group but see things differently?

So this is Prof. Lingus answer to the accusations of mad 60-year olds. This is simply pathetic and criminal. Lungu must relearn his history.
