That is one question everyone must be asking from time to time. He had his own agenda, I tell you.9 years as a military ruler and 8 years as a "democratic" leader. Within this period there was favoritism, nepotism, envy and hate. People lost their bank accounts and their properties including houses and business. Some were accused of evading taxes and were made to pay double fines as well as confiscating of their real estates into government owned. We have not forgotten the late B.A Mensah, the late "Boakye Mattress, the late Kofi Siaw of Tata Brewery fame,and Henry Djaba. These were a few of businessmen whose activities catered for so many families.
In the wake of this, there were several executions including Ghana's well-trained army generals. Some were accused of taking a loan without a collateral and executed.To favor certain individuals as against others, they were freed for funny reasons. For example, Kyeremeh Djan and some others were executed for PLOTTING against the government and the late Quarshigah who attempted a coup was sent to his parents for advice. A political party was formed out of a violent regime to become "constitutional" and have been the worse ever government administration in Ghana.
Look at the contrast: Whilst others were executed for taking loans without a collateral, a whole democratic party has rather allowed its members to create, loot and share. Ghanaians will forever remember the Korean STL business, the savannah guinea fowl project,the the military airforce jets that attracted over200 million dollars which are still not seen on Ghanaian soil and many more.
