Yeah l was in secondary school in those days and do remember vividly when the great Ali visited Ghana with his younger brother and were received at the Flagstaff House by President Nkrumah. Indeed, Ali brought smiles on the faces of millions of Africans and admirers worldwide. May the Almighty grant Ali, a peaceful and eternal rest.

  I have been informed that Ali met a pretty Ghanaian lady he wanted to marry.They took pictures and were published in Drum magazine and Ghanaian newspapers. Mr Cameron Duodu,can you confirm this story,and who was this lady?

  This is a good tribute, not extraordinary, but good. Cameron left out a few things he could have added.

  Whatever, he is full of memories from days gone by on which the youth of today will feed. A treasure trove, really...

  If you leave your own personal comfort to champion the course of the marginalized in society, the world will remember you. Ali as an individual could have been given the best treatment that a black could ever have, had he accepted the wishes of the white people at the time. But he choose liberation of the whole black race in America to the detriment of his personal comfort. Ali has shown the world that one should be steadfast in the mist of aggression. May the soul of this great liberator rest in peace.
