  This piece from Bokor shows how shallow, naive and ignorant he is about economic development. I do not know in which faculty he obtained his PHD. If it is in Economics or finance then I would gladly ask the institution which gave him the degree to consider withdrawing it because he learnt nothing to be called Dr Bokor. For you to say that a country like Ghana that cannot produce basic food item like plantain, and provide consistent supply of water and electricity for 10 days in a month, cannot boast of a 100 km of pot hole free asphalt road in a stretch should jump to the tertiary industry (services) is not only madness at its highest level but criminal in intent. On what infrastructure are you going to provide the services. How can a country with over 70% of the people without even the basic knowledge in computers compete in the service sector. Bokor your tribal effusions and warped thinking cannot persuade even the marines let alone right thinking people.

  B.K Bokor is an embarrassment to the academia. Which country has developed without industrialisation? Your write up is laised with tribal bitterness. Why insinuate Acheampong as being the own of the Progress Party? Why then did Acheampong overthrow Busia if they are the of the same stock.
  You suggestion of the service sector is hollow because it can not absorb the teaming army of unemployed youth. Agriculture and industrialisation have taken cote divoire and BURKINA are making strides whiles we are importing rice ,yam chewing stick, waakye leaves and plantain from ivory Coast .You need to think above your narrow perspective to see the opportunity out there and stop being a petty tribalist.

  You are wrong in your analysis of industrialization in Ghana. Nkrumah failed not because someone opposed his efforts. Nkrumah's efforts failed because of the manner in which he set off to industrialize the nation. It was pure politics- locations of these industries, lack of long-term supply of raw materials (inputs) to feed those industries, mismanagement, etc, etc. Look at those that were left behind after his overthrow- VALCO, ECG, etc. Those industries were politically motivated. His cronies were put in charge to run those industries. Corruption, and managerial incompetence ruined those industries. If individuals were allowed free hand to run their own businesses, the results would have been different. Public enterprises such as those created by Nkrumah failed Ghana. If the necessary push by Government for private enterprises are encouraged, industrialization will be the right path for the nation's economic growth. And that is what I believe Mr Akuffo-Addo is talking about. We saw that push under President Kuffour. We can do it, so let us encourage private entrepreneurship instead of Government/party entrepreneurship and industrialization.

  Many moved to Japan.
  many of the coal mines of West Virginia were closed down and today many of the towns are ghost town.
  Campbell soup which use to be a major employer in Omaha Nebraska have to close down and move to Arkansas because of competition from other manufactures and cost of production.

  In fact, all the Southern tribes traditionally feel superior to the Northerners . I have lived in all the Southern regions and I confirm that Asantes, Fantes, Akims, Akuapems, Sefwis, Kwawus, Brongs etc all call Northerners "pepefoo: or " ntafoo".
  
  I tell you Ewes also call them "dzogbadzitor": Gas call them "suno" to despise them.
  
  I am annoyed with NDC who give everday impression that Asantes alone despise Notherners to court Northen votes against NPP. This must stop.
  
  I tell you, Ewes are worse. They despise northerners more than any tribe but they hide it. Because very few hear Ewe language the everyday mischief they play on northerners is hidden.
