  The President's bribery/gift case can't be compared with that of the judges bcos the former has strong supporters to defend him the judges don't.When you steal & you've strong supporters you can escape.

  What I want to know is why this contract was given to a Burkinabe? Afterall that wall was nothing to write home about for the eye-watering sum of money paid. It should have gone to a Ghanaian contractor. Ndc lacks patriotism.

  The questions posed by Akilu would be laughable if they weren't stupid and lacking of substance. A minority party cannot cannot impeach the president, because it does not have the votes to do so. Secondly, it is difficult to prove a case of bribery in the absence of a quid pro quo. Thirdly, the president did not personally benefit from the gift, as the car was turned over to the state by the president. I think the president showed a lack of judgement in accepting the car as a gift. In a country rife with a culture of corruption accepting any kind of gift from a businessman feeds into an unsavory perception.

  It is okay for President Mahama to accept the gift from the Burkina Faso businessman. Presidents the worldover receive gifts all the time, but they turn the gifts over to the nation.

  Mahama is not that daft to use the gift for himself, especially at this crucial election time.
  He should turn the gift over, not to NDC, but to nation as a whole, to be used by those who need it the most.
