z. etc., etc.,
The Achimota School authoritoes invited the encroachers in the first place. It was in the mid-90s when we read that the schl authorities wanted to sell some of the land in order to use the proceeds for devts in the school. Those of us on the Okyeame Forum were horrified and roundly condemned it.
I suppose the action had the blessings of the old students and govt.
Now, what kind of a judge can sit over a case like this and hand over a publicly acquired land to some private faceless group which then sell it off to private developers? A most unconscionably corrupt judge who doesn't deserve to be a judge in the first place.
And what kind of govt officials can sit down and allow such a thing to happen? Most unpatriotic and mentally pathetic bunch of vermins who do not deserve to retain their posts.
Btw, colonial papers revealed showed that much of the devt work carried out by Guggisberg were already under planning by his predecessor, Clifford, under whom he served as director of public works in 1914. So, it is fair to say that those ideas were conceived under Clifford. Further release of the papers will reveal who influenced the other in conceiving them. Credit, of course, goes to Guggisberg for implementing some.

I hope the Ghost in Question is not the people of Osu?The lands at Achii mota was acquired when the populations of Osu was small. All those who acquired education at the school, were supposed to return to their villages and help develop other regions. Most of the educated ,remained in Accra and helped to loot Ga/Osu lands. The Achimota school is connected with excessive migration from the hinterland to Ga/Accra.

First of all Accra is the capital of Ghana and very stupidly the whole country is built around it which leaving most with no choice but head for Accra.
It's every Ghanaians contribution which has built Accra otherwise left to you Gas everywhere will be like where you live.
Take a look at your surroundings J,amestown,Bukom,Chorkor and the rest of the places you Gas occupy or live.
Reason before you say or write anything and I wish Ghana was a federal country or development projects were distibuted evenly accross the country.
A serious issue has been raised and instead of you contrbuting positively you come out with such trash. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Captain,
#Thus Govt does not care about the pubic "weal". Most probably, some members of it are part of the stealing-of-lands syndicate and so we can say all we like; go to all the courts we can afford to go to; and yet the stealing of the lands will continue?
What about VIGILANTE action, then, Captain? People brought guns to frighten away influential citizens who have only the pubic interest at heart? Are they the only people who can wield gins in Ghana?
Please form a committee to defend Achimota lands, composed of people who understand defence: ex-policemen should be at the forefront, as leadership by ex-soldiers would create security concerns. Register with the police so that your activities become LEGAL. And then DEFEND the School and its lands.
It will be a difficult and complex operation, probably expensive, too. But inherited property, known as "agyapadier" in Twi,means soething that was left by a "Good Father" (Agya pa).
Guggisberg was a "Good Father". We honour him when we defend what he obtained and left to us by legitimate and legal means. When force is used illegally, it must be met with stronger fircs -- and Achimota Akoras can easily deploy that, so Unite and fight.
Great piece
