  I remember the Australian ambassador saying on radio that he attended an event which both he and the then president mills drove pass what was clearly galamsey activities being carried out by foreigners. He was at loss why a whole president can drive pass without blinking an eye.
  We need leaders who love the country. They don't have to have a Phd but they can't behave like the donkey we currently have as president. Try reasoning with a donkey and you will see what I might

  Our traditional leaders are to blame here.The Chinese immigrants are only exploiting the lack of education and conscience of our traditional leaders.After all,will a Chinese immigrant travel to Ghana and occupy and explore a piece of land without colluding with these traditional leaders?
  I know a traditional leader in the Eastern Region who has leased a large parcel of land to a Chinese group for the next 50 years to explore for minerals(and be paid royalties) while the youth in his town cannot find land on which to farm.

  Obviously, the writer is unaware that the Chinese are simply employees of some local chiefs and businessmen.

  Obviously, the writer is unaware that the Chinese are simply employees of some local chiefs and businessmen.
  
  They are not criminals but come from a rather poor part of China where gold mining was part of their occupation. They invented a machine which is able to extract gold better than any available, even from the waste from the Obuasi mines.
  
  To tackle the problem, the govt must deal with these chiefs and connected businessmen, not target the poor Chinese hustlers.
