This is well objectively,sensibly written article. Ken Agyapong is certainly a political bully, particularly when the question of women is raised. From the trend of events he's no regard for women. How on earth could an MP(dishonorable)put on board a naked woman, because he disagreed with her on some issues? An MP should be a model for the young ones and s/he be able to debate and bring out intelligent, innovative ideas, but this is not the case with Ken Agyapong. He always opens his mouth widely like a fish swimming in wasser.This is a big lesson for the electorates. It's a high time that we find a better way of electing the MPs.If care isn't taking we'll always fill the parliament house with the likes of Ken Agyapong.Enough is enough!

I normally will not comment on articles but this having few comments means the author will see my comment. I have a number of issues with her line of arguments but I can point out just few. First of all if anyone asked the writer where she was when the NDC attacked women and personalities in the NPP the person is right in asking. She rightly mentioned Ursula Owusu and I don't think an article was written in defence of her. Unless someone wants to tell me that being chairperson of the EC makes you so important and places you as SYMBOL SYNONYMOUS for women, such that a personal attack on her becomes an attack on all women.

There are words like well meaning, sound minded used to describe those who think an attack on Mrs Osei is an attack on women, the opposite is those of us who honestly believe that Mrs Osei is Mrs Osei and nothing more. Bill Clinton was accused of sleeping with Monica Lewinsky and he denied. Later it was found to be true and he apologized. Considering the culture of this country, it is no news if the president has 100 wives and 1000 children. It is bad for the president to sleep with people he works with but as long as they perform to the highest standard expected of them that won't be too much of a headache for us either. So yes, the president may sleep with female ministers and I won't bother with that much.

The position of the EC is different. It is a position of neutrality. As much as possible we must find a person who can't be compromised in that role. This is because their actions can strengthen or kill our democracy. This is why to every Ghanaian, both "sound and unsound minded", must be alarmed by the accusation thrown out by Mr. Kennedy Agyepong. What I have expected from the author, the peace council etc was to demand a proof from Mr. Kennedy, or push the president and Mrs Osei to come out and tell us whether Mr. Agyepong's allegation is true or false. The simple reason is that if the president has at any point in his life been intimate with Mrs. Osei then it compromises her position as a neutral person to referee our elections. It is a very dangerous matter that should not be reduced to a fight or protection for women's right. Afterall it is only a women who are affected by Kens allegation. If true the consequences will affect the entire nation.

We also need to note that Ghana is far better than many countries in women's right. When Mrs Jiage was appointed the first female judge in Ghana the United Kingdom had not even appointed female magistrate. We have girls schools in Ghana that are nearing 200 years (Wesley girls). We have a female Chief Justice. This is not a country where women are not allowed to drive or go to school. It is true that sex for grade is common in our universities, it is true that sex for favours are common in our country and I personally think it doesn't define women but rather all of us. Indeed even when the woman is over qualified for the job, the interviewer being a male starts thinking of taking advantage of her provided she is 'attractive'. African men are sick when it comes to sex. And we get away with it because unlike the West, allegations of sexual harrassment end nowhere. I believe in time this will change. However, in the particular case of Charlotte and President Manama, we must treat with utmost seriousness and stop this twisting and diversion tactics.

I think the author also hit below the belt when she rain insult of Ken and attempt to reduce him to nothing. Ken is a smart person and indeed he has the mental capacity to acquire every certificate Charlotte Osei holds. When you say Mrs Osei has every qualification for her job and that all that Ken boast of is money you are totally wrong. Ken like Bill Gate, dropped out of university and took to business. Sir Richard Branson didn't continue after OLevels. You may hold a Ph.D in business studies and earned it by studying the business models of people like Despite, Richard Branson, Ken, etc. Let's stick to the Issues and stop intellectual attacks. You will be totally wrong to think that Charlotte by having postgraduate degree in Law and having head NCCE is above those people I have mentioned here. I attended UK's third best university by Times ranking and you know what? I had a lecturer with Bachelor's degree delivering post graduate courses. The first black and first Ghanaian country manager of Nestle Ghana limited is a woman and she hasn't been accused of sex for position. Chief Justice was not accused of that, there are many top women in Ghana who are not accused of trading their body for positions. So let's stick to issues and stop running away from it.

I also think it is not fair to attack the NPP too much on this. Personally I think if any Ghanaian thinks he or she will vote against the NPP because of their inability to tame Ken the person is free to do so. I will vote against Manama because Accra is a slummy. It doesn't matter if anyone thinks the problem was there before he came 8 years ago. He is meant to solve the problem. I will keep changing leaders until we find the right leader for this country. So please, take the NPP out of the equation of Kennedy Agyepong because that exposes you as a bias person. Unless you can write another article tomorrow to criticize Hannah Bissiw for calling Nana Addo "an Old Sexy Fool". Then you take on Nii Lamptey for ordering physical attack on Ursula, something that could have ended her life. While at it, tell the NDC to come out and apologize to Ursula and distance themselves from those who physically and verbally attacked her, attacks unleashed by Nii Lamptey and Jinapor who was personal assistant to the president and now energy minister. If you can do this we will see you as an unbiased Ghanaian who means well. If you don't do this then sorry you are just like any other hypocrite and of course you won't succeed in making everyone buy into your view just as you may not buy onto mine.

In the end, we shouldn't behave as if the NPP is the custodian of decency in Ghana. Whenever an NPP member does something wrong everyone comes out to complain but if an NDC does it it is quiet. P/NDC picked up a nursing mother and judge and murdered her and today we have NDC supporters threatening to kill judges and it is quiet everywhere. In the meantime you just mentioned in this article how Ken was arrested and the NPP massed up to chant his release. You conveniently buried the facts. Nii Lamptey organised his goons to prevent Akans trading around his constituency from registering to vote there believing that the Akan speaking people will vote against him. Ursala Owusu went there to protest and she was physically attacked. Ken being so passionate got infuriated and demanded that if Nii Lamptey won't let Akans vote in Odododiodo then Akans must also prevent Gas and Ewes from voting in Akan territories, if they are beating Akans then Akans must do the same. I believe you are a "sound minded" Ghanaian and if you are up to no mischief you will know that kens statement was merely to draw attention to the divisiveness of the NDC but being so passionate and often angry over injustices, his words came out with so much force the NDC jumped at it and used it as a tool for tribal politics. You and I are smart enough to be fooled by such rubbish. So please next time reduce the insult and be the neutral Ghanaian you want us to see you.
