The reason why corruption , hegemony , tribalism and retrogression of any development flourishes is that some because of their affiliation to NDC think that they are above the law just like these 2 who threaten judges . NDC thugs have threatened not only judges but Akans trying to bring money , factories and good projects that create employment , for once the judges should find balls of steel and jail these criminals 1000 years each , no forgiveness . NDC Politically motivated blackmail and insecurity everywhere you go .

Mr Baidoo has written a very thoughtful article and must be commended. This is the type of researched write up we need in the opinion column of Ghanaweb. My addition to his comments is that we humans have deviated so far away from God's Laws that none of the types of government we practise on earth is acceptable to Him. Hitler's government was completely unacceptable even by our man made standards, let alone God's. But neither is any other system of government on earth today acceptable to God because they are all based on our human standards which are completely different from what God designed for us millions of years ago. So whether it is Mahama or Obama or Merkel, or Cameron, none of them can claim the authority of God as their source of power.

That is your understanding and I respect. I think that claim was to just to say 'God appoints or chooses whoever He wants as a leader'. The Holy scripture( Quran) says that even God can test you by making you poor, rich, powerful in society, knowledgeable, famous, etc. Even as I agree in parts with you, are we then saying that God didn't know JDM will be President of Ghana someday? or that say JEA Mills will die as a seating President? or JA kufuor will be president someday? Much as I admire good public speeches and educative write-ups, I will caution against blasphemous statements, which I think is your concern, I can understand that. Once again I think the intent of the claim was simple - that w should not undermine or insult higher authorities within our human circles. As for your examples involving Rawlings, etc what do we say about the Israelites who tortured Jesus, Adolf Hitler who killed several Jews?! food for thought. Nonetheless, I have read a few of your pieces and I they are well balanced, fair, educative and rich, keep it up!

Same could be said about the Kings in the Bible. They were selected and anointed by God through his prophets. They waged war and killed people from other places who are also God's creations. So your point?

We black africans have a wrong concept and defintion of God. our deep believe that it's God who does what affect our everyday lives will keep us in primitive and miserable state for over 1000 years, at least we can't advance more than any other race- whiteman or yellow man!

we live in a natural world that we don't know for sure who created it, unless you're a christian or moslem who have refused to think and question.

Now, what we call development that affects our everyday lives is an artifical environment that comes about as a results of man's action and manipulation of the natural world.

For instance, supposing we all agree that the stones, soil, water, trees, iron ore, oil, animals etc were all created by a God of israel for africans and we don't act on these natural environment to create an artfical environment such as houses, bed and mattresses, furniture, electricity, cars, roads, parks and garden etc we shall remain primitive and poorer forever!

by this common sense logic our GOD or gods has no hand in who we elect as our leader. it's our own arrangement. it will be stupid to call on supernatural forces(God or gods) to effect artificial changes (development) on the natural(primitive)environment when man is the man agent inhabiting in it.

the elections that brought nkrumah, busia, limann, kuffour, uncle atta, john mahama and the coup that brought ankrah/ afrifa, acheampong and rawlings were all man made events, God didnt add elections to nature .

we africans must wake up and realise that God didnt and God won't predetermine events, successes and failures of people.

why will GOD choose limann as president when he has already programmed rawlings to overthrow him?

why will God make john mahama president when he God has already predetermined that mahama can't solve dumsor?

why will the christian God of israel burn judas in hell fire for betraying
His only begotten son when it was he himself God who destined judas to betray?

If it exists in any part of the bible or koran that it's God who chooses leaders don't be surprise for i ve always said both christianity and islam are fake institutions of spirituality(religions) designed by smart leaders to keep feeble minds under permanent control!
