1. What are "beefing, battling and dissing"?

2. What do you really mean by "classical music and jazz are non-lyrical and non-vocal"? The concluding sentence of that paragraph (Ghanaians being enthused by vocal music) makes me think you meant music that does not have words sung to it (and hence no lyrics/librettto). But a lot of classical music is vocal music (Mozart hounding his librettist for the text, Wagner being his own composer and librettist, the wonderful choral music that ends Beethoven's 9th, and all the songs in traditional jazz music... What music did Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Mahalia Jackson, Nina Simone, etc make? Was it something other than jazz? Or did I get you wrong?

3. What is the significance of the name M'anifest? Does it mean "Money First"?

Thanks for the piece. Will Molefi make an appearance in the second part? Or has he already and I missed him?

I think this picture of professor Kwarteng was taken in the Gold Coast days. Somebody hinted that he is now bald, and wear a thick long white beard and mustache. We need the current one.

And that is a good thing for more reasons than one.

Unfortunately, we have not been following up on all that "beefing an' dissing" between the musicians.

But, we hope that "beefing, battling and dissing...(continue to be)...used as (just) another form of strategic marketing by artistes...), and not anything destructive or sinister like so many unsolved "East-West...beefing" mayhem.

Ghanaians (and Africans), if we are serious about our heritage, should not love money, fame, and power that much.

So Dons - Make music, but cultivate decency and "criticality"!

That, after all, is what the World will remember when it is all said and don'.

Good you mentioned the "East-West...beefing mayhem "; a hip hop rivalry: a feud from 1991 to 1997 between artists & fans.

The East Coast rapper The Notorious B. I. G. & Tupac Shakur, a West Coast-based rapper were both killed in a drive-by shooting by unknown assailants in '96 & '97, respectively.

Let's hope this lyrical battles currently being waged between Sarkodie & M,anifest don't degenerate into East Coast-West Coast type of rivalry. Can somebody in Ghana call on these great musicians to cooperate to refine their music without feuding, or being urge by their fans to beef, battle & diss?

So I don't look at youtube numbers.

Tell me, how many of Jay-Z's Youtube songs have generated numbers close to South Korea's Psy's "Gangnam Style"?

Using Youtube numbers alone will tell you Psy is a far better rapper than both Nas and Jay-Z!

"Numbers" do not always amount to a thing. I other words, I am different from those who have so far listened to all three dissemination tracks...bossy...kanta...godmc.

Well, most of Sarkodie's songs don't last that long either. Most of the songs made in Ghana these days are all like that.

That said, those comparisons were to a large extent not literal, in a way. I was just looking at the "temperamental" nature of their songs. That is all.

A simple task for you:

Just do a simple google search on Sarkodie's songs and you will know where some of his beats and lyrics come from.

It is so easy to find this information. I will not do that for you. On the other hand if you have time, simply go to YouTube and listen to all of Sarkodie's songs. If you are Someone who listens to music a lot, particularly American rap and hip-hop, you will find how some of Sark's songs can be directly traced to American rap and hip-hop tracks.
