  Africans and their leaders are complete jokers, bereft of common sense and sound judgment. The boondoggle AU is not a government by any stretch of the imagination and has no mandate.
  
  Since the inception of OAU in 1963 and later metamorphosed into AU in 2002, it has failed in all of its core values, the biggest of which is intra African trade. While intra trade Among EU members rose to 77% in 2013, intra trade among AU members was a measly 12%. These dimwits prefer to trade with their colonial masters rather than with their fellow Africans.
  
  There has never been peace and security as long as anyone could remember. Regional Integration is a morass, fueled by poor economic management on the continent. Good governance has become an elusive proposition coupled with pervasive corruption with the magnitude never recorded in the history of any race.
  
  Crises Response and Mediation is a complete farce, the AU has no intellectual capacity or acuity to handle mediation among feuding factions on the continent. All 54 member nations are to speak with one voice on Global issues - that too is a dream never to be realized. I can go on and on, but the foreboding issue that needs to be addressed with our leaders and their superfluous perspective of continental government of Africa is that, if these goons can't manage their tiny countries, how can we trust them with humongous African government with its intractable regional and sectorial problems? Didn't our parents tell us to learn how to walk, before we can run?
  
  Ah, well, Africans are dreamers, they dream beyond their capabilities.

The Whiteman came with Christianity which help prinitive Asantes to stop human sacrifices for their stupid gods. The build schools to educate Fantis who use to walk naked along the beaches. Mfanstipim Secondary School which was built by the Whiteman has the best in fracture in the whole Ghana. Upon sighting the first car, the entire village of Tuobodom-BA was vacated with people run for cover in the bush, amidst panic and screaming. The first footwear of the pompous Asante king was made from the tire-koba of an abandoned motor vehicle. Yet, instead praising the whiteman for opening our eyes we have some arrogant buffoons laughably saying The Blackman is Capable to Manage it's own affair. How silly!

  The comments on here are absurd just like this article. I don't think that it has occurred to you that the tax on imports has only been possible due to the increase in imports. Imports into any country affect the economy of that country. African countries are not a dumping ground for unwanted goods which other countries don't what, yet that is what is happening and has been happening for years. Its stupid to continue to think that more than 50% of the AU's budget should continue to be funded by external organisations who seek to continue to control Africans and impose foreign policy on us. Has it occurred to you that Africans need to fund their own budgets and if we pay taxes for that then so be it. You people need to wake up, all other countries that are self sufficient get their people to pay taxes that is how they have progressed. Africans need to get some pride inside of waiting for hand outs yes we have corruption but we need to start somewhere. I welcome this tax.
