  Thanks Prof but your submission is quite bereft of some logical reasoning.First and foremost equality before the law is paramount.I absolutely have no qualms in the sentence handed the montie trio but the question is why are the judges who were caught on tape taking bribes are walking about freely without any form of jail sentence.Does it mean the judges are more human than the other citizens.Equality before the law is what i am looking at. afterall what is good for the goose is also good for the gander.

  If we were to go by your comments then President Mahama should be rotting in jail by now for accepting bribes and engaging in several corrupt deals. Nobody has defended the judges who collected the bribes so let's not confuse ...

  i see a bit of partisanship here.To ignore the central argument as to whether the sc overstep its boundaries by by being an investigator,prosecutor and judge at the same time and rather harp the blame on the AG department the police and the BNI is a distraction from the over reach of the sc.
  
  In the recent and ongoing Hilary
  Clinton's case The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, said that the agency was not recommending charging Hillary Clinton in her use of a private email server while secretary of state. To warrant a criminal charge, Mr. Comey said, there had to be evidence that Mrs. Clinton acted intentionally.
  
  The BNI looked at this case and in their opinion determined that though the culprits were way over the top,their action was actuated more by political fervor than by an intention to carry out their threat and it seems the sc over ruled that argument and proceeded to prosecute and convict the accuse in a case in which they were the complaints.
  
  Even though they could have asked the AG or the police to step in and start the proceedings from a lower court but these people were not given the chance to even defend themselves for fear of an even harsher penalty.One can't be a judge in his or her own case and the argument that the fault is that of law enforcement is preposterous and just an effort to cover up the injustice in this case.
  
  This partisan allegation that the BNI the AG and the police may have been the cause of the sc behavior is either exaggerating or simply seeking to overstate the gravity for effect.

President Mahama, crack the whip.Man makes laws for his convenient and social order but not law makes man to humiliate man.It can never ever be the vise versa in any civil democracy.

  How do we build strong democratic institutions to safeguard our democratic gains, when we politicize properly constituted democratic institutions? Can we attribute the lack of functionality of these institutions to the concentration of power in the Executive to appoint heads of these institutions, or the steely partisanship of the incumbents? The conduct of BNI, IGP, and AG in the Montie 3 contempt trial is a stack reminder of the fragility of the democracy some of us froth over.
  
  Inserting partisan politics in every facet of our democracy is blind diverticulum which we will live to regret.

  Our problem terms from short memory... When a person says that the president sleep with a woman before giving her a job, is it not a contempt of the presidency. When a person says that the president has stolen money and that he is corrupt but has not proved it is it cont contempt of the presidency and threat to the security of he state, therefore treason.
