Who are mostly the inhabitants of Nima? That suburb is considered as zongo in our local parlance right or wrong? Now, until we can talk with frankness and attack the problems at its core, nothing will change in our dear nation.

The situation in Nima is nothing more than it show the real picture of those living in that area of Accra. They are people who love filth because they see nothing wrong with such an awful situation. Why should humans with brains wait to clean their area unless the president of the nation is visiting them? What sense does it make? I see such a move as pure partisan politics which makes no sense.

I will keep ask about the majority of inhabitants of Nima. As I do not want to stoke embers or be called "tribalistic or whatever", who are these people? Till we find an answer to that simple question, we cannot address the situation properly.

Nima is also considered as one of the hot spots during election and with that the same question comes back as to who are the majority of inhabitants of Nima?

Our good old people said something like, "if one haven't been to the North, go to zongo and there is no difference". That is a commonsese saying to the effect that Nima is mostly populated by peple from the North and that depitch its awfulness or whatever one may call it.

I know some will attack or labelled me whatever adjective they think fit but I careless about that. We have to talk with frankness and that will help.

The fact that the residents pay-to-dump their rubbish is not a reasonable excuse to drop their rubbish by the provided Skip. That's unreasonable behaviour. They are expected to put their rubbish in the Skip.

When NDC gurus, including Mad. Betty Mould Idrissu, visited Nima youth activists earlier this year with cash baits, the youth showed they had "realized their foolishness" by chasing the delegation away, with shouts of "We want jobs, not petty cas!" The youth made it clear to the delegation that they (youth) prefer jobs to petty handouts, since they could not survive on the cash handouts. This is but just one dimension to the problem. The general theme is that the people understand the benefits of sustainable deve?opment. What is left is for government to ensure the numerous solutions and interventions are actually implemented to create not just clean environment, but also much-needed jobs for transformation. Is anybody listening?

Don't be taken in by the assertion that he is shielded by protocol and aides, and therefore cannot see the filth around. Isn't he the one who goes around disguised as a motor rider so he can see things for himself? He sees it all the time my friend so stop wasting your breadth. With the kind of rot we have in Ghana we need leaders who will turn up unannounced like Rawlings used to do and Magufuli is currently doing in Tanzania, to see for themselves what is happening on the ground. Stop making excuses for this lazy president we have hanging around us like a bad smell! We can do far far better than this, I know we can.
