I have read the entire report (original piece) and followed the ensuing discourse. A/Prof. Tsikata and Dr Doste need to be commended for their work. I think UPSA made a needless and poor attempt to defend SMC. That should not have been their business. It is for the NAB to do so. In any case, by revoking the registration, the NAB has effectively admitted that it erred in registering SMC earlier. It settles the matter on accreditation. What is next is left now is how to mitigate the harm already caused. As a professor herself, I expect the Minister the for Education to take this matter seriously.
Sadly, the narrowing of focus on UPSA/SMC appear to serve some of the politicians well, especially those who received the honoury doctorates from non-existent institutions.
Nonetheless, the ensuing debate is interesting for aspiring academics.

So VSU is an old institution formed long before the Northern territories became a protectorate of the British in the Gold Coast, before Trans Volta Togoland was taken over by the British and before Ashantee was annexed to the Gold Coast.
It is far older than our oldest university and better than anything we have in Ghana since, according to SAS, even a prison university in the US is better than our best in Ghana.
But Valdosta is not the kind of university you hear of in Ghana or even in Europe. What do you expect from a university for predominantly blacks?
So Tsikata is not working in an exactly prestigious university. And, as is typical of USA, one year after the defence of your PhD you become "Assistant Professor". That's not so in Europe.
Anyway, much as I support the work of the authors in trying to expose the bad nuts in our educational establishment, I hope it doesn't really become an obsession borne out of the fact that they have newly completed their PhDs in the USA. After all a PhD on something called "Communication" isn't really all that... Besides, anybody can, in principle, get a PhD who works for it. And all PhDs are not the same. In the end, what really really really matters is how brilliant or naturally gifted one is...
... but a PhD is only necessary to get a job. Which is why no one should get a job with a fake one.

For my life, do we care if they are just even Masters students and not even yet PhD candidates? The fact is that they have come out with a superlative investigative report which the whole academic set up in Ghana, all the Ghanaian PhD holders, home and abroad, didn't come out with!
In fact, they could even have dropped out of university like Bill Gates but they have accomplished what Napoleon couldn't do! So, Willie bogger off! These two are gems to treasure, not smear.
By their Report, public attention has been drawn to a most rotten decay of morality in the so-called Ghanaian elite. We should all join in pressurising the Minister of Education to take swift action to redress the canker. Nothing short of that can be accepted. Yes, and certainly not even detractors like Willie and "Dr" SAS can deter us from doing that.

The public was expecting those who threatened legal action for defamation to have done so by now. We are in the second week now and they have gone quite. As the writers continue to say, this is not an issue that will soon pass naturally. Why would Ike the SMC be asking the diligent professors who have woken the WHOLE GHANA UP to begin to question the fraudsters and their toilet papers they call Dr.Dr. Prof. Goski Alabi. I read the report three times and it is has the soundest methodological underpinnings. I am sure my respected professors will respond to you soon if you can put up a rejoinder to them.

We only wait to see what would happen to UPSA next year with their admissions. certificates from these universities have become worthless, not worth to even clean my ass. Employers will begin to thrown those certificates out of the window.
