It's about time we make the necessary amendments to the constitution. Ghana is for all of us and not just few privileged party faithful.
Thanks for bringing this up. I hope you will send copies to our useless parliament and the unbiased radio stations for discussions.

Nana Osei Yaw you turned justice on its and deprive it of motion. The U.S. President Barack Obama pardoned the Cuba four this year. Has he broken any U.S. law and why should it be said that if another person pardons prisoners in his country he has gone against the law, when the right to pardon is granted to all presidents in the world. We are well aware that liberal law supports slavery and racial segregation, but the same are against the UN Declaration on Human Rights.

I think the writer is talking about the abuse of presidential pardon. Like some belonging to the executive violates the law and as soon as he/she is convicted a pressure is mounted on the president to Pardon them. Nobody mounted pressure on the USA government to pardon prisoners. I think this is a very good article. We really have to look at the excessive powers of the president.

That is the problem, when our so-called constitutional framers copied the US constitution word for word and imposed it on us. What is good for America is not necessarily good for Ghana. Personally, I have no respect whatsoever for that "bogus" constitution because it does not reflect or relate to any of our customs or traditions. The British rely on a series of common laws gathered over centuries as their guiding principle/constitution instead of one stupid book written at a specific time.A classic example, is the "right to bear arms" in America. It was relevant in the 17OOs but has outlived its usefulness. When school boys can take their parents "guns" and murder their fellow classmates,it is only a complete fool who will stand in the way of amending such "goddammn" constitution which was written 200 years earlier as a "sacred" law or right. We are talking absolute crap when we could have drafted our own "unique" constitution to suit us. For all I care, our constitution is not worth the paper it is written on!

All costitutions in democratic countries take stock from THEIR HISTORY ,besides the general principles emboded in THE de claration OF human rights OF the united national, which are not negoziabile. THE Three arms OF GOVERNANCE are:EXECUTIVE,PARLIAMENT and JUDICIARY which must BE authonomous and indipendent to provider THE CHECKS AND BALANCES.THE REPUBLICAN COSTITUTION lis seriously DEFICIENT and is time for AMENDMENTS
Great article.
