THAT FIGURE REPRESENTS VOTERS REGITERED ABROAD AS PRESENTED BY THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION DURING THE NPP PETIITION IN THE SUPREME COURT

  I'm surprised NPP party is not reacting to EC's propaganda of proxy voting. It is definitely a deceptive tool for votes rigging. Watch out NPP.

  This is where the rigging. How can the EC accept proxy votes when the register has not been clean?Also why 40 long days for proxy registration.Proxy voting simply means double voting. NPP must resist this proxy exercise.

  The purpose of education, real education that is, is to use knowledge to impart information to free thinking people to use that information to decide their leaning in major national discourse like the Dec.7 elections.

  K. Badu made such a big fuss about proxy voting...sounding the alarm bells as if there is going to be a big voting rigging on December 7 and that the voting booths will be filled with 'the walking dead'. But democratic voting is all relative and comparative to what happens in the rest of the free world. So let us look at the breakdown of the results of the UK 2015 election, and I used UK so as to make Mr Badu understand what proxy voting is all about:
  
  "In 2015, 30.7 million valid votes were cast, making the overall turnout across UK 66.2%. Of that total 150,000 electors(.3% OF THE TOTAL) appointed proxies." ((source: electoralcommission.org.UK)).
  
  Let us cap this discussion off with who can apply for a proxy vote and again this is gleaned from gov.UK :
  
  - you'll be away
  - you will be at work
  - you will be attending a course
  - you're disabled
  - you are living overseas
  - you are serving overseas as a member of the armed forces.
  
  Of course, our own criteria may be a bit different but can't be that far off. Yes, we may want Mahama out because of what we may rightly or wrongly perceive as his obvious shortcomings, but let us be truthful in how we go about doing it. Just spreading lies and wrong information would't cut it because Ghanaians are now very discerning ...and very much wide awake!
