The taxes are paid so that government can provide these amenities. Some governments collect these taxes but provide little or nothing. That is what NPP does and will do under Akufo Addo, the most incompetent of all the presidential candidates.

yes, i agree with u, but only partially! and this because, i don't agree with ur "....the same way the writer did", because "that way" does not consider all the facts, and is lopsided! for example because it does not consider that someone may come tomorrow and use the taxpayers money not to develop the country but to enrich himself, like say, buying expensive jewellery that u may call a national award to adorn himself with or even buying prime state land at a fraction of its price! in such a situation, if u don't tell the electorate how u have spent their money, what should form the basis for determining the better candidate?

hi kb, i lifted the ff from your article :"I have been listening with absolute puzzlement to the bizarre arguments .....that since NDC government has embarked on a number of infrastructure projects, the electorates will .....vote massively for Mahama in the forthcoming general election". i wonder what manifestos are for if what one does with the people's power must not be a yardstick for giving, or denying one, another opportunity to move the nation forward? for purposes of analogy only, i wonder what u would think if you heard your poor neighbour telling your child that he/she is your responsibility, that se/she did not beg to be born so he owes u no obligation and may refuse to take any advice or instruction from u? to stretch it further, u may as well tell Christians/mankind that they owe God, may His name be blessed, Creator of heaven and earth and all that is in it, no obligation for creating them and, as propitiation for their many sins, chose to send His only Begotten Son to suffer and die and rose on the third day! would u tell any Christian this? i.o.w do u still hold on strongly to ur views? why is ur favourite candidate promising heaven and earth wherever he goes? too, should he win, and, subsequently, seek a second term, what would u expect his campaign message to be? finally, (a) if u are self-employed, i suppose u have employees. would u refuse to promote your hard-working employees because they are supposed to work hard and, after all, all u demand of them is 8 hours a day, same time as they have worked since u first employed them? or (b) if u are an employee, and work max. 8 hours a day, would u expect any promotion in your workplace from time to time, for giving of your very best? have a gud night, but better still turn these matters over in ur mind as u sleep!

Similarly, when your wife and kids are loyal and hardworking you reward them .If a trustee fulfills your aspirations, you renew your contract with him. That is common sense.
