For the writer that you think you are, your English is bad! Akosombo International must have taught you very badly. There's a world of difference between spoken English and written English. However, you tend to mix the two all the time in your scripts. Your punctuation is just horrible. If I were to edit your script before publication, you would see what errors would come out. Please, get help!

There's no need to explain to anybody why you write. This is even a difficult thing to do. People write because ... they write!!! You don't have to justify that to anyone. You just write if you feel like doing so. Nobody should ask you to explain why you do so, much less ask you to stop.

On the other hand, there may be something wrong if you feel compelled to justify your writing.

Writing is free these days. You don't have to beg any editor to have your writing published. So just keep on writing. We the readers will judge every piece you write and decide if it's worth the time we spend on it. Many of us will judge your writing on their merits alone, not on who you are. Many of us out here in the diaspora don't know you as an actress so we judge by what you write...

can't agree with u more! too, it's sometimes necessary to say, "hey, watch it, i'm not what u think i am!" like when suddenly everyone bearing a briefcase in Gh became a businessman, whereupon the class originally using that "title" upped their game by introducing a new vocab "business executive" or some such title. or take now, when every pastor, almost, is called "Rev Dr. ..so and so", which has introduced the new fad? "Rev ...so and so, PhD", to distinguish between the classes of Rev Dr's. why, i believe i love her diction, but not her skin col.... i thought women who have more than mere sexuality to show would not wear certain designs and skin col.s! disappointingly, some manage to, and that diminishes them no end! i promise though, not to complain!

Forget about all those people who want to crucify you for being forward for women and you boldness not to keep quiet over what some nonsense people say about women.
To those women who would not talk for fear of being talked about, leave them and concentrate on your desire to fight for their freedom. They will always be at the mercy of men who have no respect for them.
Keep writing for they make you more respectful, admirable and a champion of the cause. I wish I could know you personally and adore and tell it in your face that YOU ARE A HERO. More grease to your elbows.

Take heart, because all trailblazers suffer your fate, and are not immune to societal backlash. Look for Betty Friedan's book published in 1962, 'The Feminine Mystique', or use your gift of gab and write your own book to start a movement that would serve to spur women to wake up and take their destinies in their own hands.

As a trailblazer in a predominantly male chauvinistic and backward culture, you need support from other well placed women like yourself - you can't do it alone. Lydia, publish a book on the place of women in Ghanaian culture, and you will be glad you did.

I think we will make a good pair, because I am a woman lib and I believe strongly in the equality of the sexes.
