It's interesting how in the twinkle of an eye, the men and women of God who have prospered through scamming their poor and vulnerable congregation, have suddenly become motivational speakers using the bible as their authority. Men and women like Chris Oyakhilome, TD Jakes, Joyce Myers, Joel Ostein and the insatiable Cleflo Dollar to name but a few, who have become multi millionaires and over through subterfuge, are now overplaying their hand in the sophistry of the power of the mind.

These are the men and women who did not weed, sew and gather, but reaped themselves into instant millionaires with their prosperity gospel. They proclaim themselves as thin gods, replete with the power of mind over matter and exhort their Christian flock to follow their lead. These are the men and women who see every Sunday as a harvest day - 'the day the Lord has made'.

Chris Oyakhilome quotes Roman 12:2 as the basis of his book, 'The power of your mind'. Isn't it oxymoronic for this prosperity preacher to quote this particular scripture as the basis for his book. If you read the NLT (New Living Translation) version of the bible, it says:

"Don't copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect".

So where does the power of ones mind figure in this beautiful bible quotation, which gives God the sole authority over a believer's life? These prosperity scam artists through sophistry would convince you that the power of destiny rest in your hand, speak it and declare it to yourself and you will become what you want to become. But is this the word of God as demonstrated in Roman 12:2? Lord have mercy!!!

You should rather pray for those prosperity preachers who use the pulpit as a goldmine. These scam artists are all millionaires, using the word of God as a pretext to scam believers, I bet you included.

I'm a true believer in Christ's church and see on the daily basis what pertains especially in predominantly black churches. You have a responsibility not to condone with with these prosperity preachers. They are the proverbial wolves in sheep clothing practicing their craft in swindling the goodhearted believer.

Be like the German-born Martin Luther, the theologian, who forever changed Christianity when he began the Protestant Reformation movement in 16-century Europe. Pray especially for this Chris Oyakhilome for God to change his heart, and protect your hard earned money from these rogues.

In my quest to listen to the true word of God, I was privileged to be introduced to Dr. Charles Stanley of the First Baptist Church in Atlanta. You can him up, or you can google his organization: in-touch.org., and you will be glad you did.

Dr. Charles Stanley is a white preacher/teacher of God's word - I have him on podcast and listen to him every morning before I set out to the office.

I borrowed frm a Frnd and read few chapters. Its good and educative.
Just makes u rethink in ur tuoght and creation.
Rediscover ur self through the word of God.

Personally I used to be like you criticizing men of God here and there and branding them fake. Wonder what lens I was using to see. But now I'm glad God has opened my eyes. To submit to the Word. This book has really blessed me and I suggest instead of criticizing, you should go and read it. But you know you should read it with a heart of submission but not with the attitude to criticize else you will be like a Moslem reading the Bible to argue, you will see only what you want to see and when you present your ideas every seasoned Christian will be able to tell you don't know what you are talking about. You just have the spirit of criticism and argument. Read the book, come back with a renewed mind and let's talk. All the best.
