It is unfortunate that in our part of the world, problems are left to fester until they assume epidemic proportions. This is a classic case of a country on auto pilot. The education minister herself is a confused soul who doesnt know what the time is. After running away from her philandrous husband, she thought a big position in society can make her an accomplished women. She only returns to an empty house every evening lonely. How can she think through problems? She is dead confused, folks, just like the government she is a part of.

These are stupid fools calling themselves PhDs. They are simply coercing NAB to help them achieve their cynical objectives. Academics don't have any right to force authorities to take action on recommendations within a report. NAB also has the right to evaluate such recommendations or conduct a separate investigation on the matters raised in the report, except Tsikata and Dotse were sponsored by NAB. These guys are behaving like ignorant little kids who want to have their way by all means. You are being a nuisance now.

How can an ignorant dim-wit like you attempt to call these two far, far intellitent and far, far clear-minded learned men little minds and stupid fools? You these butubutu boys koraa, the internet has confused you to think you are even better than people far superior to you in education and knowledge!
What do you really know? It is clear that you are talking nonsense to some of us who know better what academics playing the roles of intellectuals do in civilised countries to bring about change and propel their countries to better glories! You probably have in mind the intellectually bankrupt academics in Ghana. I was speaking with my snr brother this evening and we both agreed that Ghana CANNOT even boast of an active intelligentsia comparable to those that laid the path to our independence! A real pity!
Now, in civilised countries, academics are in the front organisations campaiging for change in various sectors of the society. These people didn't write as academics, as the topic on which they wrote is not their field of specialisation. In fact, only one of them is an academic, as the other is practising researcher, indeed, a director, in the science field.
Their resport was purely a research effort which a good journalist could also have produced. It is not sponsored, otherwise, it'd be a consultancy report then, which they submit, collect their contract fees and wash their hands off it and keep mute whether recommendations were implemented or not. None of their business.
But this an activist report, with a didactic nature, intended bring about a change, and change it must bring, otherwise the purpose will be defeated. To achieve the purpose, the activists must be relentless in pursuing the objective/s. They may even form an anomic organisation to realise the goals of the report, once achieved, it dissolves. It is interesting to note that an enduring organisation and household name as the YMCA was a one purpose interest group formed to achieve one objective but even after achieving that objective, has metamorphosed into what it is today.
I recollect one Norwegian colleague. After defending his PHD on the textile industry in Bangladesh, that same week he was in town in Bergen holding a press conference and a prelude to organising publicity campaigns to change not only govt policy but the practices of the importers of clothing from Bangladesh. He was shocked by the appalling conditions of work he witnessed on his fields trips to Bangladesh. Within a couple of weeks, we started hearing of the responses of the importers and the Norwegian govt, which included not buying clothing from some of the worst offending factories. That man was an academic and was campaigning for change in an area he specialised in! Oh! If a couple of our so-called academics can do same every 5 years, Ghana won't be such a backward country after 60 years of independence! In the civilised world, the fruits of researches don't end up on shelves to gather dust, you ignorant moron! Theae fine gents are doing exactly what is required to shake up the morass, the rot and the quagmire of duplicitous behaviour in Ghana!
Keep it coming brothers! Disregard these unconscionable elements who see nothing wrong with the alarming level of corruption in Ghana, except as a political football game.

Obviously, Mr Dattey too wants to be called "Dr" rather than "Mr" and may be pursuing one from SMC or Central University of Nicaragua. Or some university in Afghanistan or São Tomé.
Our problem is the excessive respect we give to people with titles. Everybody in Ghana wants to be called something that they think places them above other people. Dr this, Dr that, Rev Dr this, Rev Prof that, Honourable this, Honourable that! Why on earth should we call our parliamentarians Honourable???? It is an offence not to call them so. It is a huge breach not to call somebody who has a PhD "Dr"!
We attach too much importance to titles. We think they mean sooo much. That is why people are using fair or foul means to obtain one. There are too many fraudsters in our system. Only in Ghana you can see people calling themselves Dr Dr as if the more Drs you're called, the more brilliant you are.
As for Alabi, let us all see his academic productions - his books, journal articles, conference papers, etc and those who know about such things will judge him by them, not the titles he claims from Nicaragua or unknown institution in Switzerland. Switzerland is a country with some world class universities. Why didn't he get his PhD from one of such?
