  None of Okoampa's books is a set text at WASSCE or read in schools.
  
  Don't compare Okoampa with Achebe. People like Achebe, Soyinka, Ama Ata Aidoo, Ayi Kwei Armah, Chimamanda, Teju Cole, Yaa Gyasi, .. wrote books that made their names known in the literary world while they were in their 20s. If Okoampa is not widely known by now in his 50s, then he bears no comparison with these other writers.
  
  Okoampa says it's bad luck that has made him unknown in the literary world. Perhaps in 70 years time when we're all dead and gone, a Ghanaian writer or researcher may discover in Okoampa the "works of a little known Ghanaian writer who wrote around the turn of the millennium" and present them to a new world...

Even if one were using a hyperbole for effect, the basic sense of what Nduom was reporting has been violated by Okoampa's descriptives. It is a gross distortion made even worse by the fact that Nduom's claims were just mere speculation that should be carefully reported.
