  Holy smoke! Are you for real? If we didn't kill anils for food, we wouldn't be breeding them into existence. I realize this isn't immediately obvious, but the author does make a very marked point on this very subject. If the owners of this farm were not artificially inseminating the cows, there would be no babies. Same thing chickens, pigs and goats. Fish would repopulate the seas and we'd have up to 60% more wilderness. We could plant hundreds of millions of trees on the North American continent alone. Greenhouse gases would be drastically reduced. The government would stop poisoning coyotes, wolves, and mountain lions. Something resembling a balanced ecosystem might return.

  PROBLEM not challenge of MoFA? One man who retired decades ago, was chief director before his premiere retirement, went back to his former division (agric engineering) to head, retired again from there, brought back as chief director a second time, elevated his wife to head pprsd, renewed his wife's contract for two years, and still at post. Are there no fresh innovative and updated officer in MoFA who can inject new technologies to move agric forward? Ing. Boamah must go with his Ugandan baggage of a wife so that fresh ideas can be breathed into Ghana's agric. Mr president l hope you are reading this, sir.

  Raising animals for food is a nutrient wasteful and environmentally damaging method of food production. There is a reason organizations that feed the desperately poor and undernourished on the planet do not use animal products. They are not cost effective. Beans and grains are the answer.
  The way we separate human and nonhuman lives into "worthy" and "unworthy" of compassion, justice or love sets us up for a cataclysm of oppression. The systemized brutality to "animals" by humans numbs us as a culture, locally and globally, to the systemized brutality to each other. Begin to understand that we are One; human, cow, cat, and planet, and the atrocity of war becomes unbearable. The atrocities committed against other species by humanity immobilized us, and blocks our ability to act from our hearts.

  There is no excuse for a nn article to be as misinformed as this one. Animal agriculture is grossly wasteful. About 10 people could be fed with plant based proteins using the same amount of resources it takes to feed someone by filtering protein through Na animal. The UN has stated several times that a reduction in the consumption of animal products is necessary to be able to feed the growing human population. That is merely the false premise on which this "article" is based. I won't even bother with the multiple elementary ethical fallacies. This sort if wannabe journalism is gravely irresponsible in that it not only spreads harmful misinformation to the humans it is intended to help, and as for the moral bankruptcy toward billions of sentient animals, well I think that's just going to fly right over this author's bewildered head.
