As a native of Dodowa I find some of the reasons assigned to the areas minimal support for the NPP as very misinformed and condescending to us. I don’t know whoever came up with such balderdash. The article seems to place the onus on inhabitants of Ga-Dangbe to justify why we don’t support the NPP. On the contrary, it is the job of the NPP to convince the Great Dangbe people to accept them. For decades, all the NPP does is to show up during elections with lofty promises and their pathetic “T” shirts to sway the allegiance of my people. Why should we be blamed or questioned for sticking to a choice that sits well us? The Dangbes are the least tribalistic in Ghana. There are numerous ways other political parties could gain ingress into our stronghold and change the orthodoxy that makes us vote the way we do.
In fact, we hate those who have the habit of looking down on us period. Please leave us alone with all those spurious articles.

So when someone refers to his statement as not helping his party's cause, it is justified. Remember the NPP faithful jubilated over his release following his detention over the comments, and that was an unfortunate development for the party's agenda.

I have written extensively about such negative sebtinents whuch have engulfed our midern politics. The same reasons are why Ewes, Northerners, Brongs, Sefwis, Aowins etc all shun NPP. These tribes dont like Asantes who they consider hegemonists dating back to Asante warlike tendencies of ancient times. Asantes are victims of their past, which is being unchristianly held against them by the minor tribes. The concept that NPP will take the sea away to Kumasi and recolonise coastal areas surprisingly has space in the hearts hears of Ewe and Ga voters and that has accounted for their antagonistic tendencies towards NPP. NII LANTE VANDERPUIYE diabolically still resort to those tendencies to win in Odidodiodoo. Busia came to power. The sea was not removed to Ksi. Kufuor came , the sea was never removed to Asante. . But people in Ga somehow still believe NPP will relocate the sea.
These are the dubious tactics CPP, NDC have used over the years to win. GHANA needs real deliverance.

Read your history if you want to be smart and you will find out that your beloved NPP carry it's diabolical and vestiges of delusional superiority from the past and from founding leaders, you dimwit. When a classroom educated J.B. Danquah proposed to our British colonial masters, in his own handwriting, that they, the British, should not allow Nkrumah's proposal of one man one vote because he, Danquah, did not believe Ghana's uneducated were smart enough to vote he was not advocating equality. You and all of your NPP fanatics cannot carry Nkrumah's jockstrap for it has been 50+years since Nkrumah and the CPP left the Ghana political scene and what has happened to Ghana has not been CPP propaganda but the folly of you and your likes blinded by jaundiced historical accounting of facts.

I will attempt to give you something to think about in your spare time. In business and in politics smart leaders ensure continued success by ensuring that best practices and procedures are enshrined in laws that regulate company culture or a nation's politics. The NPP under Kufour chose not to do anything about perceived ills of government to make things better. He and his band of thieves exploited all the ills used by the NDC to pillage Ghana. That should tell you that it is not the CPP or NDC that is the problem but a tribal NPP which has not known and loved anything but money; not even the Christian God. Kufour did not change the indemnity clause in Ghana's constitution not beause of a love for Ghana but he, like his brorher-in-law J.J Rawlings, needed to protect their smash, grab and go politics that has made a few filthy rich at the expense of all other Ghanaians. Show us a list of what Kufour and J J Rawlings hold in their assets along with anything Nkrumah is accused of stealing and even you will know how the NPP propaganda has damaged logical thinking processes in Ghana including yours.

Most Ewes will tell you they won't vote for NPP which is dominated by Akans (an undeniable fact) because "these Akans don't respect us, they are insulting us all the time...!"

This is the main reason why today the NPP doesn't attract Ewes. It is a modern reason, nothing to do with happenings of a past history.

Look even here on ghanaweb where people can express their true feelings because of anonymity. If you keep calling me trokosi, Togolese, stupid, etc, how can I then go and vote for a party that is dominated by people who think their tribe is superior to mine? You think it's about development projects in my area?

It will take a long time for Ewes to convince themselves that Akans do not look down upon them and disrespect them.

The situation is similar with Gas contra the Akan dominated NPP party.

The day Gas and Ewes see that the NPP is not dominated by Akans, their attitude to the party will change. But that day won't come because Akans are the biggest tribe in Ghana and most of them tend to gravitate towards the NPP. Perhaps we need a new dominant party in the mould of the original CPP - a party that is neither NPP nor NDC and cannot be identified with any of the major tribes. Such a party will, naturally, also have many Akans.

If they will vote for NPP on that condition, then they should join the party in the same way that Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, Courage Quashiga etc joined NPP, and had the opportunity to serve the nation.

Not exactly what I said. Gas and Ewes will change their attitudes to the NPP once they perceive it is not dominated by Akans who they think look down on them. Remember they don't have to join the party to have a favorable impression of the party. They don't have to join to vote for the party's candidates.

Individual Gas and Ewes may join NPP and get posts and there are Gas and Ewes in the party. We are talking about Gas and Ewes voting for NPP in large numbers. That's what the party wants and is not getting.

That statement is not what Ken Agyepong said. It was in response to Nii Lante Vanderpuye ' attack on Akan registering to vote in GA costal constituents but the NDC use Kennedy ' s statement as propaganda against NPP.Grow up.
