Brilliant expose' I couldn't agree with you more. Changing the national anthem requires bravery from a determined people. We need a brace leader to drive it.

ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS IS NOT A PRESBYTERIAN HYMN.THE SONG WAS WRITTEN BY SABINE BARING GOULD AN ANGLICAN PRIEST AND LATTER ON IT WAS ADOPTED BY THE SALVATION ARMY AND OTHER RELIGIONS.

Yes, that was a good one. Food for thought for those who have not thought of it.

The Twi translation always baffles those who know the Ewe original. Even though the Twi version contains some wonderful Twi words, it is too far departed from Amu's original. Unfortunately, it is the Twi one that is the most popular simply because there are more Twi speakers than speakers of other languages.

A few inaccuracies, though:

You forgot Lift high the flag of Ghana, sang at independence. God bless our homeland came much later on

Was Amu's Ewe original not first called "Amewodzife nyigba"?

A good analysis of our two national songs...
