I said it looks like a term paper being presented on ghanaweb.
When people write for ghanaweb, they should come down a bit (but not completely) from their academic chairs and be mindful of the fact that most visitors to ghanaweb are ordinary Ghanaians, not their fellow doctoral students or professorial colleagues. There's no need to sound too academic. This particular writer is too fond of peppering his articles with quotes from lots of academics and dangling academic terms.
Cmon, this is just ghanaweb and not some graduate seminar.

Nana Yaw Osei, you and your ilk are the problem here. Most of what you're saying here, especially about hermeneutics, are irrelevant. It is your attempt to divert your readers attention from the main issue. Remember, it was Akufo-Addo himself who prepared and made public his CV and he must therefore be evaluated accordingly. It is he who is applying to us the Ghanaian electorate to elect him as president of the country and he must therefore be scrutinised on the basis of the information he has furnished to us.
The question is simple: where was Akufo-Addo during those missing years on his CV? Why did he not mention on his CV that he attended the University of Oxford at least for one year? Secondly, he claims he is a lawyer and has accordingly practised law in Ghana for more than forty years occupying two critical positions of Attorney-General & Minister of Justice and Minister of Foreign Affairs.. Why did he not indicate on his CV where he studied law but only claimed later that his law certificate is missing? Are you telling us Ghanaians that we should hire Akufo-Addo without knowing his background fully? Is that how applicants are hired? Would you employ someone who is apparently trying to hide some aspects of his/her background from you the employer?
Are you in your right mind to tell us Ghanaians that when it comes to hiring people to lead us as our president we must ignore their academic qualifications, even when there is clearly dishonesty in the candidates' claims, as Akufo-Addo has done? Is it sensible that we should concentrate on NPP's achievements as a party and ignore Akufo-Addo's personal background and achievements and total integrity? You Mr. Osei, you are a part of the problem rather than of the solution. Away with your irrelevant philosophical distractions!

KnYc USMC, the issue is not whether or not JJ had a degree; the issue is the lie Akufo-Ado told Ghanaians all these years that he is a lawyer but that his law certificate is missing, but he has so far refused to tell us Ghanaians where he studied law. Why is that difficult for him to do if he indeed earned a law degree as he wants us to believe?
Did JJ lie about his academic qualifications? Are there any gaps in his resume? Has anyone ever questioned JJ's academic background?
If you can't read and understand the issues properly, KnYc, don't come on this forum and waste our time. The forum is meant for the educated, not illiterates and semi-literates.

What's up?
I just want to make an observations:
1 am happy you said Howard Garner's does not show how to measure his "intelligence modalities."
That is true (I have been mentioning him and his work since I began publishing on Ghanaweb in 2012).
The point is that his theory of "multiple intelligences" is used across the world as it avoids some of the major pitfalls we associate with intelligence tests, such as cultural and class biases (including the issue of "race").
I am taking about the arguments Richard Herrnstein and Charles Murray made in their controversial book, "The Bell Curve: Intelligence and Class Structure in American Society."
For instance, some White Americans have had their "intelligence" measured on tests using Ebonics and other aspects of African-American culture and they failed miserably!
The late African-American psychologist Dr. Amos Wilson, for instance, challenged some of the misocnceptions about IQ in two of his most important works, "The Developmental Psychology of the Black Child" and "Awakening the Natural Genius of Black Children."
The above notwithsanding, Gardner's theory pushes the idea of "intelligenece" beyond the traditional measurement of and concetration numbers (numeration)-words (vocabulary)! In other words, he views "intelligence" more than numbers/vocabulary.
There are other "intelligence" theories and measurements none of which are/is without problems in terms of suffieciently measuring and defining what actually constitutes "intelligence."
Psychologists like the late Amos Wilson argued that "intelligence" was not "innate," but "environmental" and "cultural." "Enviroment" includes such indices as one's educational level, class, how widely one is read, family backgrounds, etc.
"Culture" simply points to which standard is used to measure or evaluate "intelligence." Should it be mainstream (White or Aglo-American) or African-American culture. The point of reference here is the American (US) society.
Again, Howard Gardner's theory avoids some of these controversial pitfalls. I can also remember reading Dr. Amos Wilson where he wondered that if indeed "intelligence" were innate, why were there recommended books for "intelligence" test-takers to study before taking "intelligence" tests!
The interesting part of it all is that I worked in a commercial building in Manhattan, New York (560 Broadway) and there was this wealthy Jewish woman Courtney Sale Ross, ex-wife of the late Steven Jay Ross, ex-CEO of Time Warner Inc,etc.
Mrs. has a school called the "Ross School," which is located East Hampton, Long Island, New York (www.ross.org/about/philosophy). I happened to engage some of her employees who were educators among others.
In fact, it was they who introduced me to Howard Garner's work (MI Theory) in the mid-2000s. They encouraged me to read Gardner's "Frames of Mind: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences," "Multiple Intelligences," "Intelligence Reframed: Multiple Intelligences for the 21st Century"...I don't recall all the titles but I do remember they gave me two of his books to read and followed it up with additional books by him!
Mrs. Ross's school is more like an experimental educational system that has been using the ideas of developmental psychologyst Howard Gardner on his theory of "multiple intelligences" for a long while!
It is interesting to see how this school is producing great minds who end in American top universities. As a matter of fact the school invites great Americans such as Quincy Jones to "teach" as well as to interact with its pupils on question of music.
Great achievers in life from science, the arts/humanities/liberal arts, sportsmen and sportswomen, enviromentalists, architects, musicians and songwriters and music executives/music producers...from any part of the planet are brought in to "teach" and to interact with these kiids.
Even as I write I have two CDs of classic compilations from pupils of this prestigioys school. I cannot find the second one but the one with now is titled "Klangliga Sammankomaster: Sonic Vonvergence: A Glompse Into the Global Classroom," a masterpeice. You will simply love if you love good music. Every "notable" musical instrument is right there!
Well let me sum up my thoughts by quoting what Howard Garnder has to say about this school (THOUGH HE DOES NOT INDICATE HOW HIS MI THEORY IS MEASURED, YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONTACT THE ROSS SCHOOL TO SEE HOW THE THEORY IS WORKING THERE):
"Lamentably, most schools in the United States and abroad are preparing students for the last century. Ross School stands out in a number of ways: it has a clear international and global orientation; the curriculum is intelligently and determinedly interdisciplinary; materials and teaching styles are sensitive in the best sense to the strengths of different individuals and diverse cultures; comfortable use of the new technologies is part of the DNA of the institution. Graduates of this school should be well prepared for the challenges of the next years."
Thanks.
