It is easy to detect an animal withdrawing from you. But it is a different case when human being decides to withdraw his support for you. The problem of Rawlings started when he decided to betray the love of his people by clandestinely subjecting his own Atta Mills to public redicule and subsequently endorsing his wife against the will of the people. There is no way Rawlings can receive the love of his people again. It is like he built his own house and scattered it with his legs just because of selfish wife who couldn't read in between the times. Rawlings is lost and lost forever. Even if NDC goes opposition Rawlings and the wife will never enjoy their positions again.

Why does this Ashanti Badu guy thinks Voltarians care about Rawlings as the creator of the NDC? What this Akan man doesn't understand is that it is rather the Ashanti hatred of Voltarians (those they called Togolese) that drives Voltarians to seek refuge under the protective umbrella that the NDC provides.

Voltarians care little about Rawlings. What matters to them is their collective protection from adversaries that show no respect for others but themselves alone.

(i) Without Rawlings, Voltarians voted for the late Atta Mills. Why?

(ii) Without Rawlings, Voltarians voted for the Mahama. Why?

(iii) Without Rawlings, Voltarians will vote for Mahama again.

I keep telling the NPP that the only thing that can make Voltarians change direction and start following the NPP the way Ashantis (and most Akans do), is for the disrespect and hegemony that emanates from them to stop. They don't get it but if the NPP really want those "Togolese" to vote for the NPP, they should do an opposition research and find out what it is that drives them to the NDC.

All tribes make the usual jokes about each other which is normal, what we are talking about here is a different scenario. Imagine if I was an Ewe man in Ghana registered to vote, how im I going to sit on the same NPP committee with someone like Okoampa who has openly displayed so much hatred towards Ewes? We might literally butcher each other to death and I assume most people who happen to be in the same situation will react the same way.

Look at Hilalry Cliton, did she leave the Democratic party to form a party simply because lost to Obama? History will be made on Nov. 7 when she will be elected first Female American president. The same could have happened to Konadu if she remains with John Mahama for him to finish his second term. Nobody would have opposed her cherished ambition to lead the great NDC and eventually become president.
