I suppose the names the voters will see on the ballot paper will be the plain names of the contestants. This is the best and most democratic approach. The rule applies to ALL contestants.

So why is Ayariga's Dr Dr relevant here? The EC should address every contestant without a title. Mahama cannot appear on the ballot as HE. If Nduom were on the ballot, he would not appear as Dr.

This is a good policy.

The focus should continue to be at our Universities where some lecturers like those you have exposed at the University of Business Studies are cheating the system, not Ayariga who is a joke. To turn your focus from the academia is to diminish the good and serious task you guys have set yourselves.

In a recent discussion on an unrelated matter we wondered whether Ghanaian officials in one bureau coordinated information with another bureau with complimentary mission with respect to the cost of doing business.

And, of course, there is always the complaint by some high level officials that they can't find good professionals to do important work for Ghanaians.
But clearly, if the bureau is hiring people with fake diplomas and giving them 25 pesewas on the cedi, no properly-qualified person with many years of actual work experience will take an equivalent job for the same 25 pesewas on the cedi.

And so, as reported today, we have the premiere government-sponsored accreditation bureau and a government-sponsored media mouthpiece offering 2 different versions of a person's qualifications and the courtesy that person is in fact entitled.

Honolulu, Hawaii-based Atlantic International University is NOT accredited by the US Department of Education. That is all that matters, period!

Ordinarily, this is not a problem worthy of great attention.

But as we've discussed above all readers probably know by now, Dr. Dr. Ayariga wants to be President of Ghana and appears to have filed papers with the EC to that effect, with those qualifications.

That is important distinction!

So, let's see the responsible accreditation bureau get to work.

But, the last we read, Dr. Dr. Ayariga was attempting to withdraw....
