Okoampah can go to Adanse Dompoase to ask the people when Nana Nuamah was destooled for a new chief. The people brought back Nana Nuamah after Busia was overthrown by Acheampong's coup. It was during that time that they tried to overthrow Ya Naa and failed. A reason why NPP led by Kuffour maneuvered to overthrow him and killed him to retaliate his stubbornness. Okoampa, you cannot twist history to please yourself. Foolish man who does not even know where his ancestors of Kyebi come from in Ghana. Go back and seek knowledge.

Like it or not NPP cannot win any election without support from its support base in the North however marginal it might be.To try to denigrate people from the North in an attempt to hit at President Mahama only alienates people like this 25 year old who might indeed be a supporter of the NPP. Bawumia, Mustapha Hamid and indeed all the hardworking campaign team members of the NPP who are crisscrossing the country trying to garner support for the NPP should be worried about people like this writer who are acting as stumbling blocks to the party increasing its leverage in the North. It's less than a month to elections and people like this bigot are with the stroke of a pen eroding the hard work the NPP campaign team is putting in to get that "plus one" vote from the North in order to win victory for the party.Who ever this writer is, I think he is one of the wolves in sheep skin fighting hard to make the NPP stay in opposition.

Many Chiefs were destooled in Ghana under both the NLC and Busia Administrations. That is an indisputable and provable fact.
Majority of those Chiefs were supposed to have not been approved for paramountcy by the Asantehene when they were elevated under Nkrumah's regime to that status. The elevation of the Chiefs in the Brong Ahafo, in particular, followed the creation of the Brong Ahafo Region, in response to a complaint by the Chiefs and People of the Region who felt for decades that they were forcibly grafted unto the Ashanti Kingdom by the British. I personally know numerous of such Chiefs in Ghana.
There was, for example, a persistent failed effort to remove Kukuomhene of that era, Nana Kwaku Frimpong Manso, for secular partisan reasons. The fearless, fiery giant of a Chief reacted with utmost antagonistic resistance, daring anyone to come push him out of his Palace. In an instance of his immense fury against both Busia and Afrifah that I personally witnessed first-hand, in his Palace, he was driven to reveal what he claimed to be the roots of his royalty, and the real source of the name 'Ahafo' that described his area, contrary to the general belief, and which clearly established his cogent rejection of the Authority of the Asantehene over his Jurisdiction.
Nana Frimpong Manso narrated to us who were in his presence at the Kukuom Palace the real historical reasons why his stool had long been autonomous and did not have to derive its paramountcy from the Asante King before 1844, and therefore that status could not be taken away by the Asantehene or his stooges in Government as Busia and Afrifah were.
Similar historical facts proving autonomy existed for many other Chiefs in the Brong Ahafo Region, in particular, that legitimately gave them the right to earn their statuses were under siege by the Busia Regime.
When Nkrumah came to Power, he did not order the destoolment of Chiefs for Partisan reasons. He rather enabled many Chiefs, who had been autonomous prior to been forced by the British Colonial masters to worship the Asantehene in a shady deal between the British and the Asante King, to reclaim their independence and rightful status.
All across the B/A region, various Chiefs from Japekrom to Mim were either destooled or reinstated by the Busia Regime at the wishes of the Asantehene.
After Busia was overthrown by Ignacius Kutu Acheampong, the Asantehene Opoku Ware, tried to persuade Kutu, a fellow Ashanti, to continue with the program to destool the remaining targeted Paramount Chiefs in B/A. That move by the Asantehene created revived chaotic tensions in the region that eventually caused the Brong Ahafo Students Union at KNUST to join forces with the disaffected Chiefs in the B/A Region to organize a massive Conference of the People at the Sunyani Stadium to assert their allegiance to their Brong Kyempim Duoduakwa Ancestral Fratenity. There was tension even in Kumasi that caused some thugs there to attack the Buses the B/A Students hired to attend the Conference on that memorable day.
So, Professor of Fiction Writing, do not extend your prowess in making up stories to such contents of our History that you may not know, or have conveniently chosen to re-write.
Surely, there were some Chiefs that lost their stools under Nkrumah. But most of them were so destooled by their own Youths who thought the refusal of their Chiefs to support Nkrumah would deny their areas of Government infrastructural developments.
Such was the case in my own hometown where the Chief, who was my father's Uncle, was destooled for my father to replace him, because my father was known to be a CPP sympathizer.
In an ironical twist of fate, however, my father had the integrity to always hold secular Politics at bay from our Traditional systems, and escaped in abdication, citing the fact that he and his Uncle were so intimate and loving to each other that he could not support the attempt to have him to replace the Uncle on the Stool for sheer secular political convenience.
My father, eventually, from his hideout, managed to persuade his Uncle to do as the Youth of the Town desired so that the Uncle could be reinstated. And that is exactly what the Uncle did to return to his stool.
