Indeed, these lamentations won't help a bit unless they sign up to get a fair share of the oil proceeds first, instead of the paltry sum Ghanaians are receiving now.
Imagine Ghana is receiving a Fair Share PSA share of 60%, like all other African countries with even some receiving more, there is no reason regions producing oil CANNOT be given 10% share to spend on such local interventions. The oil producing states in Nigeria presently receive 13%. In Ghana, as the FTOS-Gh/PSA has repeatedly shown in calculations, the whole country has so far received a meagre 17% of the revenue from the Jubilee Fields. With tax 20%. It'd be same for TEN fields.
So long as Ghanaians sit on their butts and don't rise up to clamour for a fair share of their own oil boon, there will be Lamentations Galore Aplenty in the future.
