Nkrumah abolished all elections, imposed one-party state on the country, made himself life president and incarcerated his political opponents without trial.....These are the facts well established by the historical records.
And indeed, these are all acts by a mad man who was patently clueless about democratic governance.
So it is good that Lungu at least acknowledges that before he became President, Nkrumah had no experience in politics. At least that is a fact that was not beclouded by Lungu's Alzheimer's disease.

You know that the above is jejune nonsense! Of course, he won all elections. Can u name a single election Nkrumah lost or abolished? Even to declare a one-party state, a referendum was held and the people voted a resounding YES!
Declaring oneself a life President doesn't mean he'd live forever. It was simply making a de facto state of affair de jure. It wasn't necessary though. The bloke in Singapore did both - achieve a one party state and life presidency - by other means.
Only those suspected of crime were detained under PDA, and some were even CPP stalwarts.
And if you're aware of what democracy really means, you'd know that the Third World variant of democracy not based on adversarial system has been recognised as much closer to the original Greek variant, which is also not based on parties. Plural or liberal democracy as adopted by Western countries is therefore not the truest democracy. This has been a recognised fact as testified to by Prof. MacPherson's broadcast on Canadian Radio which was an essential part of the reading list in the Political Science course in Legon in the 1970s.
