Myself another village boy
Where three rivers flow quite
Under the Savanah grass and water lilies.
Boats make their beat their path
Like humans in the Savana grass
Fish sing their song ...

I am overwhelm with this song...
Myself another village boy
Where three rivers flow quite
Under the Savanah grass and water lilies.
Boats make their beat their path
Like humans in the Savana grass
Fish sing their songs not understood by the human ear.
Some leap into the sky and descend into the water.
Some make holes to bath the sunshine,
Bored over months of bathing water.
The storks up the cotton trees
Wading down in the rive to catch fish.
The kingfisher dropping like a stone
With a splash into he open space
Where the boats made their path
Pushed by long bamboo trees
Emerging from the bubbles of with a tiny fish.
The stork flies up after being satisfied by he river.
Their droppings whistle from the trees
Drop and scatter like a moist chalk.
As the fingerlings rush to make a meal
To watch and see the rivers emerge like giant snakes,
Then again go under the grass
Like giants covering themselves with a blanket.
Foxes chase rats,mouse and fish that venture
In to the path they beat in the floating grass.
Grasscutters fell and eat grass
Or sugarcane they stole from the farm near.
River snakes rest on the grass
And dash into the water at the sight of man,
A fox or some creeping eating mammal.
Women and girls come to fetch water
As they wait for the dirty water to flow away
And make dash for the clear water like light tea with their pots.
A boy runs towards the river from the forest.
On his shoulder a light trap
He finds an opening at he bank of the river.
Or make an opening with his trap.
Dig a hole and make sure
That the entrance of the trap is submerged
With the tail of his trap against the stream.
A man in a boat push it with a pole.
From time to time the pole knocks against the boat,
As a stick against a hollowed tree.
The boat push water forward like a wave.
He alights from the boat and carries with him,
Fish or his farms produce,
With a cutlass in the left hand
And a spear in his right hand.
He approach a mud house, roofed with grass.
Dropped his farm produce together with the fish on a mat.
Lean his spear against the wall
And entered the kitchen.
