I think the problem has to do with the bifurcation of Ghana along political lines. The political cleavage between NPP and NDC is inimical to national development. The excessive powers wielded by the president under 1992 constitution is part of the tension. Winner takes all is another problem as it ties the hands of a given leader in political appointments. Legislature must be totally independent of the executive. A useless provision that requires a president to appoint 50% of his cabinet from legislature must be scrapped. Leaders must accord dignity to political appointments. For example, a university professor will not be psychologically happy to see Mr. Okudjeto Ablakwa as a minister in charge of tertiary education. When anybody who comes out of university is appointed as a minister due to god-fatherism and political affiliations, it leads to tension. I think we need a constitutional amendment moving forward. Our political leaders are bereft of proper national mindset so how can they tune the mindsets of the citizenry. As president Obama said we need to strengthen our institutions.

Thank you so much Rev Dr. Those who have created so much negatively in our country should lose this election.Some have created the impression that if the other political party wins the election then generations have been mortgaged. Some think that $1 should be 10 cedis now so that if they win power they bring it down. What fallacy is this. I heard a politician the other time said derogatorily a fanciful fly over. A little girl in the name of politics called the president "useless". And their presidential candidate who has not been tried and tested intelligent.
The country must move away from these things for us to have sustainable development.

Don't mind this Rev. Reading carefully through the piece I can conclude that he is asking that the thievery President Mahama be maintained. Am not surprised bcos I know him to be a sympathiser of NDC .
