Infrastructure is great but a country like Ghana also needs social interventions -- there are so many who live below the poverty income level that building flyovers or hospitals in Accra does not directly change their well being. Instead having clinics, good doctors,NHIS and discounted medications, in addition to developing roads to villages may be more beneficial.

Sure some villages have new school buildings but have virtually no teachers and if they do, they are unqualified teachers because the good teachers do not want to relocate to those villages. Instead of just building schools for the sake of fulfilling a promise, the Mahama administration could have built fewer schools and then some teacher housing, say some flats as an incentive to attract young graduates.Many of the first class schools thrived because of staff quarters and other attractive incentives.

Poor people appreciate social interventions such as school feedings which in some cases may be the only nutritious meal a poor child may have.

The irony is the NDC party that started as a socialist party has abandoned that ideology and instead has focused on improving the welfare of the rich and their cronies by awarding inflated contracts, distributing luxury cars and goodies as bribes just for the sake of winning elections and enriching themselves. Seriously, what has Mahama done directly to change the welfare of those struggling?

Unemployment is at the highest it has ever been with many graduates still living at home after two/three years of graduating. It is sad to see so many under age hawkers all over the place.

People think he is not listening to the people and that is why many think it is time for change.

Let this be a warning to all those who are shouting Mahama toaso that when ghana goes down it goes down with all Ghanaians .Achebe once said in his book 'Arrow of God 'that unless the penis dies young it shall surely eat bearded meat.If we don't take charge of our affairs and think of the consequences of this heavy debt that this govt is leaving not only for you and me but our children children.We are already been overwhelmed by overtaxation,every thing in ghana is now taxable by the grace of Mahama and there seems to be no end in sight.Where are all the companies that opened their doors in the early part of the year 2000?Almost 75percent of these entities have either declared bankruptcy or simply lock down.Infrastructure is good but that alone cannot put bread on the table.With this enormous debt we should see better healthcare,education,housing and better basic amenities been provided to the country.Like even better garbage disposal,better toilet facilities,better town planning and so on.Where's are the jobs that Mahama promised in 2012?Most graduates still live with their parents because of the scarcity of jobs and even mediocre jobs.It is not the government responsibility to give jobs but it is the government sole responsibility to create the avenue for private sector to create and provide jobs and opportunities for the youth.America is not successful because of its govt alone but the private sector.No economy can function without a vibrant private sector.So think and vote with wisdom and stop the tribalism and mediocrity that is eating into our minds.
