The NPP will lose again because it simply has no meaningful plan for the economy, and has spent the bulk of its time waving the flags of quack prophets like Owusu Bempah and President Kufuor who all claim to be in constant communication with God about NPP's chances in this election. No country on earth has a perfect government, for every government has to deal with ever changing world situations that so often tensd to influence matters at the home front. President Mahama and his government have done a stellar job moving the nation forward, unlike Akufo-Addo who as flag barer of the NPP has only fratured and wrecked his own NPP with cluelessness, lack of vision, and incompetence.

One of the problems of unsuccessful politicians is the tendency to only listen to their already converted supporters. Mr Nana Akufo Addo feels very comfortable with huge rallies in his strongholds. This has not helped in the past. In this particular election period, he has made massive efforts to campaign in NDC strongholds like the Volta and Northern Regions. That may not be enough. If he is to win on Wednesday the 7th of December, he will need to spell out more clearly his policies and stop either promising everything and/or conjuring perceived 'plots' by the NDC. The Ghanaian electorate is now a more sophisticated one than before. They are very discerning. May Ghana emerge the eventual winner!

Life is more laborious, daunting, even, for most immigrants in the USA. I have lived here for 30 years. And I have encountered many, many Ghanaians of various backgrounds and learnt from their life stories. Believe me, it takes certain sheer determination not go back home poorer than one arrived here to keep a lot of Ghanaians going in the USA.

I have personally experienced the vicissitude of drastic change in the Economy, Social accommodation, and opportunities for life improvement that, if truly described in detail to Ghanaians still at home, would most likely kill any desire for most of them to travel and live in the USA. Often, folks at home would not listen because they think diasporans in the USA are just being selfish to discourage others from seeking access to whatever opportunities exist there. They are only willing to hear an affirmation of the exaggerated, conveniently selected few uppity scenes and stories of excessive affluence. The only sustained commonality between realities and the Hollywood fantasies in the USA is that the Law is much more seriously applied. And even so, it tightens on the minorities and immigrants more than others. I would dare rate that it is about 10 times more likely to go to jail in the USA than in Ghana, if one were to take life in the USA like it is in Ghana. It is about 15 times more likely to be homeless in the USA than in Ghana. And it is about 20 times more likely to carry a lifetime debt in the USA than it is in Ghana.

The results of the just-ended USA Elections add even a much scarier outlook of the future to the plate. With the sudden shift in the political fortunes of the far Right Nationalists in the USA with the victory of Donald Trump in the Presidential Elections, the opportunities for immigrants in the USA to succeed are horrendously threatened.

I have come to believe that the majority of Ghanaians living in the USA would rather return home in a heartbeat, if they could see any opportunity to find jobs or start their own businesses there with greater hope of success than when they left Ghana. Many immigrants, generally, even predict a wave of reverse migration from the USA to their places of origin in the near future. If only our Political leaders would really get to work to strengthen our institutions and curb corruption, Ghana would be much more livable for all of us than the USA is heading to.

I, for one, have always said that if I ever could have the power to offer US Visas to whomever and in any desirable quantities, I would invite every Ghanaian itching to travel here a Visa to come and work here, too. Then, they would have to learn the truth in living and working in the USA first-hand, and see if they would like to stay or leave.

Many immigrants are finding it harder everyday to locate decent jobs that can allow any meaningful progress in their lives. Owning a house, for example, has been one big dream of Ghanaian immigrants in the USA. That dream could only be met by sacrificing a lot more than one would in Ghana to attain. It takes more patience, perseverance and concerted hard-work to do so. And the challenge seems to be growing more and more. If folks happen to live in areas in the USA where the seasonal weather changes are extreme, it adds to the feelings of regrets for leaving Ghana for life in the USA. After striving to own my own home here in the USA, I dread the approach of the Winter Snowfalls and storms. Now that my older kids have grown and left home to be on their own, I have the mixed feelings of having accomplished a lifetime goal of raising my kids to become reasonably or modestly successful, independent, educated adults and having to shovel or snow-blow hefty piles of Snow off my driveway every Winter...

Lastly, unlike Ghana, if a resident doesn't work, he or she is not guaranteed a reliable source of food and shelter. There are no extended families here in the USA to fall upon when in dire need. The Welfare System in the USA has drastically diminished, and has come under persistent attacks from the Nationalist USA Citizens to be cut further and even denied to foreigners.

Discrimination and other ills that persisted in the USA prior to the Civil Rights gains by Martin Luther King, the NAACP and other entities are under siege.

So, Osei, living in the USA, for most immigrants, has never been like living on some Ivory Tower. It is rather like constantly balancing on a knife-edge to survive till a chance emerges to jump to safety. The widely held adage of 'Life is what you make it' does not always and necessarily hold true. The Dr. Ben Carsons and
Bill Cosbys would have that adage shoved down our craniums. But the realities of life in the USA, and elsewhere, I believe, would prove that in spite of one's best efforts, circumstances beyond them could deny that adage being fulfilled in their lives. And it is the culmination of those factors that deny folks fulfillment of that adage that are growing around us all over. In both the USA and Ghana, it is the political environment that has largely contributed to such denial. Not exactly the same component factors in the 2 countries, however.

So, please, don't be fooled by the glittering night skies of Las Vegas and Hollywood, and the fantasies of Disney. Anyone coming to the USA must understand that they are signing up to prove their survival ability in life. Period!

After you come to settle in the USA for a while, you then become apprehensive that you cannot go back home poorer. And every new day becomes a dreadful postponement for you to return in dignity. It takes more courage to go back, at least, for the first time, than it might have taken many to come to the USA. So, life in the USA is not a brief luxury vacation. The euphoria in succeeding to arrive in the country would soon vaporize into some transient vacation trip, if one decides to live and work in the USA.

Those who have survived to show a modest affluence mostly always had to brace themselves for the worst to make it there. I hope that would help you accept any inputs USA diasporans submit for improving our country in various ways, politically, socially and economically. We do not offer suggestions for improvements in our country because we think we are more intelligent, or we are insensitive to the hardships of those left back there. We are not in competition with folks at home. We, rather, tend to be morally obliged to share our experiences, drawing upon our lessons gathered abroad.

I hope you are not part of the privileged few in Ghana who feel their positions are threatened by any infusion of diasporans and their ideas into the country. Those have often been noted to be the most adamant in considering any view from diasporans to improve Ghana.

I was shocked when Nana Nsia one of the NPP leaders in Sunyani told us how Akoto Osei dashed him three excavators,three tipper (dump)trucks and two rambling equipments in Kuffour's first term.He cant deny this because he said this in the presence of a Presbyterian minister and a presbyter.where was Nana ? Was he a member of that regime ? How about the drill ship saga ond the oil deal ?
