I remember what Ga-damgbe youth did to former president Kufuor. They blocked him from going to his office just because their party won the 2008 election. Election is like a revolving door and we must be careful about what we do to others.

When NDC won in 2008, they did a whole lot of injustices which none of their top officials condemned it and I think NPP supporters are taking revenge which I do not support.

During the NDC manifesto rally at Sunyani, we saw Mahama and his vice looking unconcerned when Nana was being mocked in a coffin and NPP did the same to Mahama just after the election. That is how our politics have descended and it is very bad. We have to put an end to it because it doesn't help.

The Ghana Police Force has no clue that they are the custodians of the Law enforcement. Their primary Objective in their Profession is to protect the citizens of the Nation therefore ensuring that peace is maintained in all corners of the country. They not even need executive powers from the President to carry out the fundamental values of their profession.
However, it is quite disgraceful to see the President not being proactive. Why because since 2008 from day one He has seen himself as NDC President but not for Republic of Ghana.

OKATAKYIE SARPONG, though Mr John Mahama is still the President of Ghana, and could actually order the Police to deal with the post-election violence and vandalism, his call on Nana Akufo-Addo to speak out and appeal to the NPP supporters directly is politically prudent.

Yes, this is not the first time the NPP and NDC supporters have attacked each other after in our Ghanaian politics. What we should recognise is that Nana Akufo-Addo, as the leader of the NPP and President-elect, is in a position of influence to speak out against the attacks and discourage his supporters from engaging in violence as they celebrate NPP's victory across the country.

In terms of policing in such circumstances, the Police can only manage to make arrests in some isolated cases where certain individuals and small groups could be identified and contained. Any attempt by the Police to disperse large crowds or make arrests could descent into violent disorder or violent clashes with the Police and NPP supporters.
