My Bro, you are on point, and I share your concern for its all about Ghana, but not NDC and not NPP.
Perhaps, it is cheap to promises during campaign, but redeeming them when one wins power is another.
I also share your concern because how do you cut taxes from 25% to 3% and expect to raise the needed funds to create jobs for the teaming jobless youth that you promised, construct dams (not dug-out, but an irrigable one) in every Ghanaian community, US$1m for every constituency in Ghana. We wait to see.
Remember Ghana has always relied on loans, mostly foreign, to be able to carry out its dev't agenda. It also depends heavily on imports, even including tooth paste, used panties and braziers, thereby putting undue pressure on the Cedi.
Perhaps he's the "can do" spirit.
We hope and pray that he redeems his campaign pledges to bring the needed relief to Ghanaians.

And,we will soon see through all the hollow promises made by airy-fairy Akufo Addo. What sense does it make when Akufo Addo, told farmers in the Western Region that Ghana"s 92,000 sq mile landmass was bigger than that of Ivory Coast"s 124,000 Landmass? It makes you think, doesn"t it?

Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP won not because of taxes and or most of the promises made; they won because the people from other regions other than the Ashanti and Eastern regions grew some common sense and plentifully wise of being slapped around one too many times following the "love my tribe, vote my tribe" crap the NPP and NDC have engaged in over the last 30 years.
But to Nana Akufo-Addo's credit he saw a bunch of fools and bumped their heads, including the Hon Sam who posted a rather infantile response, and won. So just as the USA continues to learn from Reaganomics so it is that Ghana is hell bent on hopping on the crooked path paved with trickle-down economic theories.

A great article but, with a lot of sarcasm.Every principle applied in any philosophy is done in context with the situation or realities on the ground. How is it impossible to reduce taxes to give respite to businesses to grow and absorb the countless numbers of unemployed youths in the country which is a current priority. The roads could be maintained for sometime until the urgent problems of unemployment are solved and the micro and macro economy are stable, then major infrastructure could be done.Ghana has a peculiar case and the application of such principles as you are saying should be done with wisdom and common sense to achieve the results. This is not about applying the conservative principles, book copied. Nana Addo has the capacity and wisdom to apply every principle of knowledge acquired to bring economic relief to Ghanaians. The economy first yes, then infrastructure gradually. Mahama failed because he turned this principle upside down, same you are cleverly advocating. Give us a break, the NPP has a team!!
