Yes i equally believe that Dr Bawumia stands tall as long as presidency is concerned after the reign of the current messiah Nana Addo. I have projected that the NDC might be in a opposition for the next 20 years without any doubt. Having always flown Montie political talk show presenter Mugabe because of his cynical behaviour, i would again applaud him for some analysis he did after the humiliating defeat of the NDC. He said, if you call the NPP to present presidential candidates they can present 1000 and more but for the NDC it's only John Mahama. Wow! Critically John Mahama is also unfit for DCE if he's a member of NPP. Ghana has made a choice and a good one for that matter. Let's all support the current incoming government to make Ghana work again.

Mr. Badu's assertion belies his lack of understanding of macroeconomics, not microeconomics as he has stated many times in his article. HIPC was the single cause of JA Kufuors lackluster performance in office amidst the world's most outstanding economic boom ever recorded without the aftermath of major war. Listen to what the eminent Akoto Ampaw said in 2000 during the HIPC campaign, "If [Kufour's government] seeks to tackle the socio-economic problems of this country from the root and move us forward as a proud and able people, then it ought to reject HIPC without a second thought".

Again, listen to what the IMF and Kufour's own Ministry of Finance MOF) said on September 3, 2001 after nearly seven months of advertising HIPC. Both institutions admitted that HIPC is not the panacea to Ghana's debt burden, or economic transformation to put it in my own words. This new position of the IMF and MOF sharply contrasts with the earlier impression created by the Kufuor administration and its donor partners, led by the IMF/World Bank and Britain, that HIPC is a solution to the country's economic crises.

Kufour's administration was a lost opportunity to build a solid foundation for macroeconomics dynamics for a lasting for a lasting economic strength of the nation. The initiation of the Iraq war, coupled with aggregate demand for US war machinery brought the world's economy into a stratosphere unprecedented in recent past economic history.

US was borrowing massive amounts from China and spent it war equipment, which boosted world economy. Aggregate supply of the almighty dollar was every as US war contracts were spread around the globe. China and India was scooping up everything money can buy; Ghana's gold which traded at $250 per ounce before the war shot to unprecedented $1,800 by the end of 2007 because of India's appetite for gold. Cocoa at the beginning of the war was selling at the price of $500 per tonne, but rose to an unprecedented $2,500 per tonne, all credit to China's humongous appetite.

The very sad part of Kufuor's of Kufuor' administration, was its inability to capitalize on the tremendous goodwill emanated from the smooth transfer of power from the Rawlings' administration to Kufuor's administration which was unprecedented in Africa at the time. The Scandinavian countries were knocking at Ghana's door to show support for the country, by offering low interest bi-lateral soft loans and grants. Other western countries such as France, Germany and others were in the mix, yet JA Kufuor took us to HIPC and forced the country to undergo yet another IMF/World Bank conditionalities. There was absolutely no need for HIPC, but the gullible Kufour administration was fooled into accepting HIPC so that Britain could lay its hands on Ghana's marquee Ashanti Goldfields Ltd. Through HIPC and the conditionalities imposed on Kufuor's administration, Ghana lost its best foreign exchange earner, Ashanti Goldfields Ltd. under the pretext of hedging gone awry.

Those who are banking their hopes on Bawumia would undoubtedly be disappointed. How could the country forget Bawumia's disastrous redenomination exercise, pegging the cedi at 93 new pesewas to US $1. Time will tell!!!

Beautiful peaces of facts and history there,we brought all this upon ourselves touching on the setbacks you only failed to look at the reasons why Npp handed over power to Mills on a silver platter know how far we had come and introduction of oil for the first time in our history and the risk it ll bring if not well manage as it turnout to be.The interference of former president Kufour in the succession line of the party led to the defeat of the npp after all the hard work it did to put Ghana on sound economic stability.Going forward I think it's too early to put one individual above the other in terms of who deserves to lead the Npp after Nana Addo,we don't even know how long he intends to stay in office,for me the stage is now set for all of them to prove themselves out there so that when the time come for Npp to choose yet another leader it ll not creat divisions as we saw in recent past.I ll plead with Nana Addo never to try and impose a candidate or seen supporting one candidate against the other as Kufour did,because no matter what you do God has a way of choosing his leaders,it's only when we try cutting corners agaist the reality that we re punish for our own mistakes.Now that Npp is in power all those who found their voices to speak against the flagbearer ll now recoil just to eat,they ll now begin to tell you what you want to hear which may not be the true reflection of the situation on the ground,a desk of accountable speak must set up to check all government communicator including ministers of state for best Governace to be achieved.

Because there is no accountability. Someone come to government in one or few years building houses and buy houses oversea. Where they get the money from . How much their salaries are?come on men what kind of nonsense is that.we have to recalled accountability back to the system.
