  Surely there was a purpose to our "Serious Akufo-Addo will appoint Martin Amidu as Attorney-General of Ghana!" paper, published on these same pages 9 Dec.
  
  If we may, people support leaders with ideas, among other things. A leader then has the option of listening/acting, or not.
  
  So, again, let's start with the basics!
  
  Correct the foundation - that wart-infested Rawlings Constitution, for which much of the work has already been done, more than once.
  
  That would be the mark of a serious Akufo-Addo.
  
  A serious Akufo-Addo is not one prostrating in front of Rawlings that he will not engage in a witch-hunt. Clearly, Rawlings himself is not the epitome of transparency and accountability.
  
  A serious Akufo-Addo is one who continues the major work(s) already started.
  
  THE FUNDAMENTAL: Start with the Constitution; abrogate Act 619 (that predatory Oil Contract law) and substitute with a strong world standard, Ghana-centered PSA law; integrate the Freedom of Information bill; and all the other recommendations still on the shelf.
  
  Do that in 3 months, then lets see Akufo-Addo get to work....!
  
  Plainly, the current Constitution lacks "checks and balances". In short, repairing that wart-infested Rawlings Constitution is the only way to begin seriously building "institutions" people can trust and believe in.

  How on earth can any sane person suggest a 5-million dollar Bring-Taker -- in the person of Rawlings, who could criminal stage an arson in one of the numerous residencies he stole from the taxpayer just to have a modern state of the art mansion at the expense of the poor citizens of Trokosiland and Ghana as a whole, -- as an anti-corruption crusader? Martin Amidu should make Ghanaians proud of him, and also do himself a big favor to stay clear of Rawlings /Trokosis if he really wants to maintain the sanctity of his one man citizen-vigilante job of a yeoman.
  
  Why I'm I saying this? We were all in this land of the Living when some groups of unpatriotic Trokosi chiefs foolishly prevailed on incompetent Maham to stop the prosecution of Woyome, a world class trickster, whom Martin is trying to see his criminal ass in jail. Btw, I would be totally disappointed if the great Amidu fails to heed to the voice of the masses, thus the voice of God. I humbly urge Mr. Amidu to accept the job of the independent prosecute just to rekindle the trust the good people Ghanaian have built in him, for many are those lootees in the loot and share administration of Maham who will commit suicide upon seeing you occupying that post.
