  On 21 Dec. 2012, I wrote among others in my Staying in the Frying Pan article which you can read in the archives,
  
  "Thirdly, curb the deadly carnage on our roads. Rein in the police who allow decrepit vehicles to ply our roads and ignore bad driving for what bribes they collect from drivers. This [] legalised manslaughter on our roads must be stopped!
  
  Fourthly, for heaven’s sake! Ghana is a secular state, not a Christian nation! Keep it as such and leave that God, God, God nonsense which you yourself is a cheerleader, following on the heels of the TB Joshua mesmerised late President Mills, out of the Castle! Some of us who have mentally evolved cosmologically into the scientific, rational world order, leaving behind us the Weberian, primitive substantive rationalisations of our ancestors, find it most annoying and depressing the way God is invoked by pundits of both the NDC and NPP and their fake pastor hirelings in their dubious pursuit of political power. If there is indeed hell, we all know that all of them will burn at its fieriest corner one day, anyway."
  
  So, there you have it. It is not only witches that are blamed or invoked in Ghana to explain purely natural events but river goddesses, gods, God, Allah, dwarfs, generational curses, etc., etc. All this form part of the superstition and ignorance rcognised as one of the debililating cogs in the cycle of underdevt and backwardness we in Africa suffer from. Until this is dealt with at the roots, nothing is going to change.
  
  Mahama and his regime obviously failed woefully, hence your noted increased in accidents and deaths and injurious. He was too busy praying to his god and had no time to think about stopping the carnage.

  There is not much we remember Mr. Mahama did in terms of policy and communications that addressed accidents on Ghana's roads, and in communities throughout Ghana.

  Theodore Mawuli Viwotor's essay is a good one, timely as time itself!
  
  Unfortunately, he is, or his kind of reasoning is, part of the problem he attempted to address, and failed!

  WE SAY: That is a huge failure of intellect on the part of Mr. Theodore Mawuli Viwotor. It does not make sense.

  Witches can cause accident but if u are God fearing n honest I don't think a witch or wizard can cause u accident or u would be involve in a tragic accident,to me witches are powerless in the side of God.
