I am not an Akyem, but do you know the frantic efforts I made for Nana to ascend the throne? I hope you have not forgotten the overwhelming endorsement Akuffo Addo got in the Ashanti region during the NPP flagbearership race, as against Alan, Addai Nimo and Isaac Osei, who are all part of the Asante empire? NPP always looks for the best for Ghana. Political favoritism is not characteristic of the NPP.

Mahama lost the elections because he had no clue at governing. He and his appointees were literally reacting to happenings in the country on daily basis. He refuted the idea of free SHS but bought the idea after his election in 2012. He decided to build more SHS structures with no knowledge of how to staff the schools and pay the teachers. He owed workers their salaries and purports to expand employment. His men were the babies with sharp teeth. These young graduates who have NEVER worked in their lives were given ministerial appointments. Insulting everyone who disagreed with them was the talking points Mahama could give them on daily basis.

Yes, the kingmakers are there but they are not tribalists. They are nationalists. And mind you Volta and Ashanti regions may be the strong hold for the NDC and NPP but the real kingmakers are Western and central regions.
