Even when Ghana was a multiparty democracy before our republican status, Nkrumah won majorities higher than Akufo-Addo won.

In December 2016, 44% of those who voted did not vote for Akufo-Addo. Many even chose to stay at home rather than go out and vote for Akufo-Addo. 53% of the votes is a sure victory margin for Akufo but you cannot call it MASSIVE. Only the sycophant will.

Nana is the incoming president and we all wish him well. Nana knows the huge burden put on his shoulders and I hope he is aware that in four years, Ghanaians will mark his examination papers and see if he should continue the job as the president.

As soon as he takes the oath of office, there should be no room for excuses. He should hit the road with all the vigor in him and let those he would choose to help in paddling the canoe on the rough seas be aware of what Ghanaians are expecting from them.

Nana should accept no as an answer from any of his appointees. Those who will try to show any sign of "lukewarm attitude" should be pushed out of the door without delay because Ghanaians are hungry for massive change in their lifestyle. They need jobs, jobs nothing but jobs, tax reduction etc so Nana should leave no stone unturned and make sure that he will deliver else......

As an English Teacher, I must teach some English vocabulary items whenever I write. After all, all education is hinged on new vocalic inventory. So instead of whining about my use of new words, take this opportunity to learn them and thereby expand the horizon of your own knowledge. Don't get stuck at JHS English.....

If the purpose of what you have written is to educate/inform people then you have lost it. Even Tony Blair and Queen Elisabeth are well understood by most when they speak, read or write. In this modern world most people in the western are more innovative and inventive than just picking out works from dictionaries to memorise and occupy the space in their brain with chaff. The are many in this modern world who knows not much about English yet they invent and are creative and their creativity is what is holding the world together today. Just open TV and radio stations of Ghana and you will hear all the big words of dictionary from people, these people practically can do nothing and they are those leading Africa into the Ditch. Dubai, China, Korea, Malaysia, Germany, Holland, France e.t.c. does not speak any better English yet they are developed so we need to learn to have skills rather than busy memorising dictionary.

Please address the points I have raised and dispute them, and stop running off tangent. If your initial idea is stretched, then your own writing will even contain words many in JHS do not understand!

Simply put, I write as an English Teacher using useful words which others could learn and understand. It is not my work to invent stuff, but to teach language and communication skills any time I write.

And whatever I have written here is good learning text if only you will pay attention and elevate your own understanding, instead of engaging in useless opposition to the learning of new words.

A teacher of English is always right as far as the usage of English is concerned, huh?

These guys say they do not understand some of the words you used and you come and tell them it is their fault and not yours!!! You think they don't know to look up those words?

If you feel privileged, is that how to use that position to help others?

One of the reasons many people do not like Akufo-Addo is that they see him as arrogant and pompous. Such things mean a lot to some people. You will want to be a bit more humble yourself.

Perhaps these guys could have expressed their concerns in a different manner but I fully understand them. The least you can do is to try to understand these concerns too, not blame the guys who make them...

We shouldn't goad Nana, because he may already be drunk and basking in his own glory, instead of the Lord's. He should rather roll up his sleeves and deliver, because he made a mountain of promises and the days of reckoning begin in just a few hours.
