It is very clear that Mahama covets the property for its ideal location and the enhancements that have gone in to upgrade the place whilst he was president. The question that needs to be asked is: for how long can we continue to confer official state owned residences to ex-presidents when they exit office? Sooner or later we would run out of official residences and future vice-presidents would have to be accommodated far and far away from upscale neighbourhoods which Cantonments represent or as far away as Kasoa or Nsawam.

We cannot allow a very bad precedent to occur.....we should draw the line here, no government official from the president down to ministers must be allowed, henceforth, to possess or purchase their official abode on exit from office. They are doing that because these colonial hangover bungalows are on prime real estate and lands and proximities which they covet.

There would have been none left if we have been doing the same since independence. Kick him out fast. The law says you are entitled to some two houses which would be constructed at a place and plots of your choice, it did not say you should be allowed to convert your official house or residence as president or vice-president into your personal residence. Get out of there and don't let me come down there to kick your ass. Do you hear me John Dramani Mahama? 8years and counting what did you do for Kufour, nsemfoo arakwa!

Well,with construction of the Flagstaff House, and another house which Amissah Arthur is occupying, I don't think we should be crying over this house,the Flagstaff House has a house for both the president and the vice but I wonder why these people are still having houses outside that compound,is it for their additional spouses, Bawumia or any other vice president does not need that house.

These houses being given to these former presidents will not remain their property forever,their families will not inherit these houses,they will go back to the state after their death,no need crying over them,it is just unfortunate many of us don't know that,

Now getting back to the Flagstaff House, when the building was ready, it was reported that it has accommodation for the President and offices. Nowhere has it been reported ever that the Flagstaff House also has accommodation for the Vice President. It will even be foolish and not security wise for the President and his Vice to reside in the same house, it is not done anywhere in the world and I challenge you to provide any news that said the Flagstaff House has accommodation for both the President and his Vice.

Blaming us of rushing to acquire properties is really stupid. Nobody is rushing for properties but Mahama should abide by what the constitution states which is that, the President and his Vice should vacate their official residencies a day before the inauguration of the new administration. Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur did but Mahama is refusing to abide by the constitution.

Why should Bawumiah stay at his father's residence as you are alleging when his position as the Vice President comes with a free accommodation?

Mahama has two houses we know of at Ridge and East Legon so why is he refusing to vacate this house, just be real.

Only Rawlings has live in government housing since the day he enlisted as an Airforce Officer.

That place is a huge area with many buildings some of which were built later, it is not what you see in the pictures.
Try to go there one day to see how the place is,looking at it from 37 Hospital road will not give you the true picture of the place,just get appointment and go there to see,there are two huge houses there as well as other buildings.

How many houses is Ghana going to have to build for every retired head of state till the end of time? Who is going to provide housing for the poor and destitute in the country - including those sleeping in the streets and ran-down kiosks in the nation's capital?

It just wrong to be giving so much to president who is already rich and can afford any property they require. So every 4yrs we change government another state property is gone.Are we building enough to replace them?.I agree ...
