Excellent and diplomatic article. Unambiguous and explicit. No house facility for ex-presidents. President Nana Akufo Addo as he is now and would be wouldn't have any problem at all returning to Nima after the tenure of his stewardship. Previous Ghanaian leaders didn't bring up any problem like Mahama because they have been modest. Why didn't he move out when he became president? He had conceived the idea of possessing it back then and so didn't exit and allow PK Amissah Arthur in nor located at the Flagstaff House. Bad thought.

In the evolution of universal adult suffrage, one of the things I learned in a government class is that only Africans who owned a hut were allowed to vote in most African countries during colonial rule. The reason being that owning a hut pre-supposed one is responsible enough to participate in a meaning voting exercise. I think the same argument holds for presidential aspirants in Ghana. If one doesn't own a house she/he can retire to after serving the nation, one shouldn't be allowed to become a Presidential candidate. This way, Ghana can save millions of cedes that would otherwise be spent on providing houses for ex-Presidents. The reasons for dishing out houses to ex-Presidents is laughable. if we go by that reasoning, every Ghanaian put in a position of authority will have to be provided with a free retirement home so they can minimize bribery. I'm so sad for Ghana.

PRESIDENTS are noble people and they are required to own property before they offer themselves to be Presidents
They are supposed to provide essential
needs of the people in the country, and NOT to steal the money in the Treasure and fail to provide the needs of the people. And when leaving the office, after taken the
huge retirement package and huge
salary fight over accommodation they
have used state FUNDS to furnish to
tastes. Whats a greedy bastards.?
NANA, you are the only President with all powers, all willingness, all
sincerity, to stop this madness and
thiefly. You are not greedy. You
rejected the bungalow given to you
buy Kuffuor Government. You rejected
the Achimota Land given to you by
Kufour Government and many good things you have done in the past.
You know very well how Nkrumah's
Government was run. The people are
suffering and you are the only one
who have the WILL POWER to stop this
unnecessary use of National Cake
when the masses continue to suffer.

I couldn't agree more. For someone who has been in almost every position from (correct me if am wrong) Assemblyman, minister, Vice-President to President you are not able to put up your own house is totally Ludacris. This is a clear indication that he cannot manage is own personal affairs. Considering the amount of money he earned including all the gifts before he became President he still could not afford this basic necessity is a clear indication of his incompetence. Politicians need to know that they are there because of us and must avoid taking the people for granted. If the Current President whom I voted for and cried when he won should fail the people I will not think twice about voting him out come the next elections and so must politics be about and not the kind that most practices.
